I am experiencing very similar twitching on the right side of my head above my ear. I have been exposed to solvents as I use solvents in my painting for the last 3 years. Is there any connection? I've researched this twitching issue and it seems many people have it but no one has a diagnosis. Exposure to solvents causes problems to the central nervous system. And twitching is a reaction to muscle contraction. I'm guessing i have a problem Question is: How long will this last and how do I make it go away?

I have been having twitches, spasms ongoing for about 4-5 months. They are mostly in my head, and it SCARES the c**p out of me, of course I am thinking the worst-anurysm. It feels hot or tingly , pulling sensation at times and comes on sudden without warning. I have been seeing a neurologist but the visits are so spread out the diagnosis has yet to be. Although I was in a minor car accident less then 2 years ago, had whiplash and now I have a bulging disk in my neck, and recently have been diagnosed with arthritis in the neck. I now get steroid injections in the neck to keep it from spreading and the pain in my neck has went away for the most part, but the twitch feeling persists. I "think" it's a nerve thing because of the bulging disk in my neck, like the nerve maybe is pinched. I don't know. I also get twitches in random parts of body but the head ones I can't take, and YES they do cause me to have anxiety. I am only 34 and have a family, and that scares me that something bad is going on and something will happen to me. I take ALOT of vitamins and suppliments a day. Garlic, calcium, magnesium, zinc, multi vit, echanacea, ginger, ALOT of antioxidants. I am trying to nip whatever it is i the bud before it worsens, if I can. I have noticed most of the meds the doctors give me are far more worse with side effects and warning, then my actual problem. I urge everyone to READ the info on ALL perscriptions carefully before taking. Some are just NOT worth it and can make the problem worse. I try to find more natural ways, as they have less risks. I feel sorry for for anyone who is going through this, it's especially hard when it's in your head, and feels like somethings wrong with your brain or something. it's so very scary!! If I ever get diagnosed I will be sure to post it, as I hope you all do the same. In the meantime I hope we all can find some releif and or it goes AWAY for good..Good Luck:)
Oh I also have pains in my temples and around both ears, top of head and back of head. Eyes sometimes hurt, although I have went to every specialist possible and they all say I am healthy. The only one so far that I continue to see and NEED is the neurologist, I just hate the appts are so spread out and the pain and twitching almost never happen at the time of the appts, whitch totally sucks. I am forced to try to cure myslef online because it's just taking too long to get some resolution from the doctors..Please someone HELP!!!

I think it has to do with chewing a lot of gum. I recently stop smoking and started chewing Nicorettes. I first noticed the twitching this morning and figured its either a nicotine overdose or chewing the gum constantly.

mine started yesterday on the left temple. a few days ago i burnt a batch of cookie dough when i reclined and fell asleep. there was no fire but the cookies were all black and the oven clean. till this day there are fumes i hope other units don't smell it as bad as i do. i have opened windows and don't understand why if the oven is clean and there was no fire, Thank God, why the smell permeated everywhere, even the bathroom. This morning I think i heard someone on the roof investigating possibly. Anyway when someone mentioned solvents I thought maybe the fumes of the charred cookies lingering caused this twitch on the side of my head. i was worried about these fumes causing some kind of lung damage but now i am also worried about neurological damage too.

Hello,

I too started with the head twitching above my left ear two weeks ago.  It is very sporatic and comes and goes.  When I yawn or chew is when it happens the most.  I've also had some eye twitching.  I've been to my chiropracter and the adjustments seem to help.  The twitching is definitely stress related.  I have been under a lot of stress lately and I think that is why I have this issue...
