eSIM (short for embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that’s built into your device. eSIM allows you to connect to the Telstra network in minutes as you don't need a physical SIM card.
eSIM allows you to add a secondary number so you can juggle work and personal life on one device.
eSIM is not yet available for customers who wish to keep their number when switching from another provider. For customers wishing to keep their number when switching their service to Telstra, please select “Physical SIM” at checkout or visit a Telstra Store.
Compatible device is required for connecting to eSIM.

When connected to Wi-Fi, open the My Telstra app on the device you're moving the service to.
From the “Services” tab, select the relevant service and scroll down to “Transfer or restore eSIM”.
Follow the prompts to complete eSIM activation.
Note: Your physical SIM will stop working and cannot be restored. However, you can switch back to physical SIM at any time by ordering a replacement physical SIM card.

All Telstra’s plans are available on eSIM. You must have a compatible eSIM device.
An eSIM profile is the software you download to your device when you buy a new plan or manage an existing service to access Telstra’s mobile network without the need for a physical SIM.
