Chris Evans is an American actor and director who built up his career portraying superheroes. He was part of the superhero-movie boom of the 2010s and has become well-recognized and an influential figure as a result.
Background and education
Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Chris Evans is said to be of an Irish and Italian descent on his mother’s side. He graduated from the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. He then proceeded to Lee Strasburg Theatre Institute to improve his acting skills.
Family
His parents are G. Robert Evans III and Lisa Evans. He has two sisters whose names are Carly and Shanna. His younger brother, Scott, is also an actor.
Early Acting Career
Chris Evans started acting in first grade. He followed his sister’s steps and started making an appearance in school plays. He played an exemplary role as “Leontes” in “The Winter’s Tale” and was praised by his drama teacher for his performance.
He engaged in more plays at the regional theatre and later on relocated to New York. Following the advice of his friends, he took up an internship position at a film casting office.
During his internship, he became friends with some of the agents and regularly communicated with them. He gradually turned his focus to screen. His first known role was in 1997 in a short educational film “Biodiversity: Wild about life!”.
He met other young actors when he relocated to Oakwood apartments, Los Angeles. His first screen appearance was in the film “The New Comers”. He had a lead role in the television series “Opposite Sex”. He has played interesting roles in the “Fugitive” (2000), “Not Another Teen Movie” (2001), “Just Married” (2003) and “East Wick” (2002).
He is a lead character the 2022 movie “The Grayman”. In the movie, he plays the role of “Lloyd Hansen”, a former cohort of the CIA.
Career Highlights
Chris Evans starred as "Johnny Storm / Human Torch" in the Fantastic Four movies of 2005 and 2007.
He directed his first movie in 2014’s “Before We Go”.
Achievements
Chris Evans won a People’s Choice Award in 2015 in the category of Favorite Movie Actor. A year later, he took home a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
He portrayed the role of "Stevie Rogers / Captain America" in over 10 MCU films. This resulted in him being ranked amongst the 10 highest-paid actors in the world in 2019.
