Donovan is a renowned Scottish singer-songwriter known for a collection of hit songs such as Sunshine Superman and Catch the Wind. For his contribution to the development of rock and roll over the years, he was honored with an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. He is also an inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Family Life
He was born to Winifred and Donald Leitch. He became a father for the first time when his then girlfriend Enid Karl gave birth to his son Donovan Leitch in 1967. In 1970, Enid gave birth to his second child Ione Skye. That same year he married Linda Lawrence, with whom he fathered two children.
Trivia
After his arrest for possession of cannabis in the 1960s, he became the first English pop star to be arrested for that crime.
He taught John Lennon a guitar technique in 1968.
