The actress was born to Annie Margaret Derden and William Bledsoe Philpott. She was made for the limelight as she made her stage debut dancing in the local production called “Aida" at the age of 9.
Career
Madge Bellamy made her debut in 1920, when she appeared in the movie "The Riddle: Woman". The recognition she garnered served as a stepping stone for her. She went on to make appearances in other, including "Love Never Dies" in 1921, "The Hottentot" in 1922, "The Fire Patrol" in 1924, "The Dixie Merchant" in 1926, "The Great Hotel Murder" in 1935 and "Northwest Trail" in 1945.
Personal Life
The actress first married Carlos Bellamy in 1919 and later married Logan F. Metcalf in 1928.
