  • The Environment Seen From Above<br>NORWAY - SEPTEMBER 2003: A wind farm to the North of Alta, in Norway. A proposed solution for wind energy and other intermittent power sources is to create a supergrid of interconnected wind farms across western Europe. The development of wind farms in Europe generally enjoys greater public acceptance than elsewhere and creates a larger share of energy. Overall national government policies across Europe are also generally in favour of increasing the use of renewable energy sources. Recently ministers in the UK have been discussing plans to install up to 7000 additional wind turbines by 2020 to boot wind energy production 60 times, and potentially power all UK homes, although it would significantly change the coastline.
