If you have grown up or lived in Kenosha, Wisconsin at any point in your life, then you know the following to be true:

1. Nicknames like “The K,” “Keno” or “Keno-where” are more common to use rather than just saying Kenosha.

2. Describing the location as “in-between Milwaukee and Chicago right on the Wisconsin and Illinois border” is actually pretty accurate.

3. The Bears and Packers football rivalry is like no other.

4. People from outside of the Kenosha/Pleasant Prairie area know us for having the outlet mall and the Rec Plex.

5. You are bound to see someone you know every time you leave the house, especially if you are running errands at Target.

6. Tenuta’s has the most scrumptious Italian food EVER. 10/10 would recommend the cannolis.

7. We have a metra train station that commutes easily from Kenosha to Chicago.

8. There are three museums: Kenosha Public Museum, The Civil War Museum, and the Dinosaur Discovery Museum.

9. Petrifying Springs Park (Pets) is gorgeous, especially in the fall when all of the leaves on the trees are changing colors.

10. The big white box = fresh doughnuts from Paielli’s Bakery.

11. Everyone was super upset when the drive-in theatre permanently closed.

12. The intersection of 39th, 75th and Roosevelt Road is quite confusing.

13. Kenosha is the world headquarters for Jockey International, Inc. and Snap-on Inc.

14. The rivalry between the Spot Drive-in and Big Star Drive-in is just as serious as the rivalry between the Bears and the Packers.

15. $5 Tuesdays at Tinseltown is the only time you actually go to the theater to see a movie unless it is a matinee time.

16. Common Grounds does not have wi-fi because they want people to actually relax and read a book or socialize with whoever they came to grab coffee with. HOW COOL.

17. We have the best local breakfast places: Frank’s Diner, The Coffee Pot and Danny’s Cafe.

18. Whenever it is not snowing, there is construction happening on basically every single road.

19. The Dairyland Greyhound Park was supposed to turn into a casino, but it is still j-chillin’ there.

20. Trolley rides downtown are super cheap and a great way to take in all the scenery despite the fact that the route is just one giant oval.

21. Kenosha Kingfish baseball games are really fun, especially when you get free stuff.

22. Kenosha is the fourth-largest city in Wisconsin, behind Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay.

23. The Kemper Center is actually haunted.

24. Mike Bjorn’s has the most unique and fun selection of formal and novelty wear, and 99% of guys get their suits and tuxes from there for their high school dances.

25. Every summer, Kenosha hosts a “Taste of Wisconsin” festival with live music and so many ___-on-a-stick foods!!!

26. Scoops is located in an old Orpheum Theatre, and it has the best ice cream in Kenosha. 10/10 would recommend Superman.

27. People that do not live here will make fun of the name by saying “Ken-ooooohhh-shaaa.”

28. The Mars Cheese Castle, located off of I-94, is literally heaven for all cheeseheads (cheese lovers).

29. Fourth of July fireworks at the harbor are magical.

30. The farmers market has grown immensely every summer with more random things, variations of cheese and types of flowers.

31. Urban Culture has the best frozen yogurt.

32. The Jelly Belly Factory has such a vast amount of candy and treats to sample and purchase.

33. The red lighthouse on Lake Michigan is considered one of the most important landmarks.

34. “Who wants to go to the lake?” is probably the most commonly asked question, no matter what the weather conditions are.
