Infosys HR Advises Work From Home for Mysuru Campus Employees on December 31

Infosys on Tuesday announced that employees at the Mysuru campus are supposed to work from home on December 31. Well, the reason is not what you may think considering many organisations have allowed employees to work from home, keeping in mind the new year celebrations. Infosys made this announcement after a "wild animal" was spotted at the Mysuru Campus.
Located near the Hebbal Industrial Area, the Infosys Mysuru campus is situated close to a reserve forest, which serves as a natural habitat for leopards. Occasional sightings of these wild animals have been reported, and officials believe that the leopard spotted on the campus may have strayed from the forest while searching for food.
In an internal communication to employees, Infosys' human resource department stated:
"Dear Infoscion, a wild animal has been spotted on the Mysuru DC campus today. Efforts are underway to ensure campus safety in collaboration with the task force.”
The email further advised employees to work from home on December 31, saying:
"You are requested to work from home today (December 31). The security team has been instructed not to permit anyone inside the campus.”
As an additional safety measure, the security team was directed to restrict all access to the premises. The communication specifically noted:
"Please do not enter the campus today (December 31)."
The forest department confirmed the sighting of a leopard captured on CCTV footage at around 2 AM. IB Prabhu Gowda, Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), told Money Control:
"The leopard was seen on CCTV around 2 AM. Our team reached the location around 4 AM and immediately began a combing operation.”
Infosys also issued specific instructions for the approximately 4,000 trainees at its Global Education Centre in Mysuru, asking them to stay indoors. An internal message addressed to the trainees stated:
"The training schedule will be delayed by a day. Please stay in your hostel rooms and use the day for self-study."
Trainees were further advised to remain on campus and not leave their hostel rooms until further notice for their safety.
