Tumbbad sequel

With the re-release of Tumbbad, the makers announced its sequel. The audience present in theatres were left surprised when the film ended with a voiceover saying, “Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega… darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega (Its a circle of time. What goes, comes back. The door will open again).”
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Sohum said, “We did not want to make the sequel just because it would be successful. We could not zero down on a worthy story for 6 years but now we have finally selected a story. We will start the shooting next year. But in our production house, we do not pre-decide a release day. Whenever the film is ready then only we decide on a release date. But there is no planning as such beforehand. But yes, we are going on floors with Tumbbad 2 next year.”
