In a video message, Anshu thanked fans for their overwhelming response to the film’s teaser and addressed the controversy. She said, “I really want to assure you all that he’s the loveliest man on the planet. He really is, and I believe his words may have been taken out of context. He has treated me like family throughout this journey. Over the 60 days I’ve worked on this film, I’ve received nothing but respect, love, and good wishes.”
She further urged everyone to focus on the film rather than the controversy. “Let’s put this to rest. I’m so excited about the movie and hope we can all watch it for the right reasons. Trinadha has been a joy to work with, and I couldn’t have asked for a better director to guide me back into the Telugu industry. I’m truly grateful for him and the entire team,” she added.
About the controversy
The controversy began during the teaser launch when Nakkina commented, “Does she [Anshu] still look the same as in her Manmadhudu days? She’s a bit thinner now. I told her to eat and gain weight because, for Telugu cinema, it’s not enough - she needs to be a bigger size.”
These remarks faced widespread criticism, and it also resulted in the Women’s Commission issuing a notice to the director.
Director Trinadha Rao's apology
Apologising for his comments, Nakkina said, “I regret my remarks during the Mazaka teaser launch. They were made in jest, but I understand they were inappropriate. I deeply apologize to Anshu and anyone else who felt hurt by them.”
