Former BCCI Selector Backs India To Win Down Under, Says 'Pressure Is On Pat Cummins'

A former BCCI selector has expressed confidence that India will beat Australia. He mentioned that given the current form of the Indian team and the players' performances, India will succeed in this series. The selector also highlighted that the team's depth and strategies are quite strong against Australia.

Former BCCI selector Chetan Sharma has ba cked Rohit Sharma and his team, saying that India will beat Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After an embarrassing whitewash against the Blackcaps India will be taking on Australia for a 5-match series in Australia (BGT). Rohit Sharma has certainly been struggling with his batting in this home series both with the bat and captaincy.
Earlier India got whitewashed by Sri Lanka 2-0 after 2 decades and just after that series, India lost 3-0 for the first time in India.
But BCCI former selector Chetan Sharma has shown belief in the Indian team. Speaking to The Times of India, I am 100 per cent sure India will beat Australia in Australia. Under Rohit's captaincy, we will make it a hat trick in Australia. India will defeat Australia on their turf once again. We have already defeated Australia twice in their backyard. They must be worried, not us. The pressure is on Australia, not India. The pressure is on Pat Cummins, not Rohit Sharma."
"We have always enjoyed it when India tours Australia, South Africa, or England. The best part is that we now enter as series-winning contenders whenever we tour overseas," Chetan added.
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, it is also a question that who will open the innings in his place. KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran are seen as replacements for the skipper but both seem to be struggling in Australia as both the batsmen failed to score against Australia A.
