The New York State Attorney General Leticia James on Friday released a shocking video where police officers can be seen kicking and beating an inmate to death. The video shows three police officers beating, choking and kicking a man named Robert Brooks. On Saturday, the officers seen in the video were identified by TMZ, based on review of the documents.
The outlet identified the officers as Nicholas Anzalone, Glenn Trombly and Anthony Farina. They have been suspended by the New York Police Department after the video surfaced, pending further investigation, as per the report. TMZ said that the officers were named in other lawsuits of police brutality filed by incarcerated or formally incarcerated individuals.
The incident happened at New York's Marcy Correctional Facility on December 9, 2024. The inmate, Robert Brooks, was beaten to death in a medical exam room while he was handcuffed. He later died from the injuries. The footage was released by the office of Leticia James on Friday, sparking widespread public outrage.

Governor Kathy Hochul has condemned the attack and ordered a thorough investigation. “We have no tolerance for individuals who cross the line, break the law, and engage in unnecessary violence or targeted abuse,” she said, calling it a 'senseless killing.'
The state corrections commissioners, Maniel Martuscello, has launched an internal investigation into the case to effect "institutional change" in New York prisons. Fourteen workers, including correctional officers, sergeants, and a prison nurse, are facing termination for their role in the incident.
