A blog dedicated to the love and appreciation of all kinds of furbies!

She’s here, She’s long, She’s Lady Omelette S. Berry-Milk, Duchess of Venus and Devourer of Kneecaps

Try to get outside and take a walk! Me and Gerrie have been cooped up so long it was nice to get some fresh air.

Fleece has something important to tell you!

FURBIES WERE FIRST BRED FOR MEAT BUT ONCE INDUSTRIALIZATION HIT THEIR HIDES BECAME MUCH MORE VALUABLE

Actually! the North American Furby Fur Trade predated the industrial age by centuries, which you can read about in most U.S. History textbooks. However it’s true that while the commercial industry dealt primarily with pelts, furby meat remained an essential calorie source for trappers & traders surviving harsh Canadian winters

Fun fact! Furbies are classified as rodents! They were popularized to be pets in the late 90s, and before then were treated like rats. Also, short and fat furbies are the domestic version of the wild furbies. Wild furbies are the “cursed” varieties you see on tumblr (long, centipedes, etc.).

Add-on: Furbies seem to not have the long tails that are iconic to rodents because furby breeders cut them off at a young age for aethstetic :(

this is untrue! Given their aggressive natures, docking a furby’s naturally barbed tail is an important way for breeders to prevent injury and death from in-fighting. While furbies are technically social creatures, incidences of violence and even cannibalism are well documented among furbies in captivity.

This is also why furbies are legally required to be declawed

who is the holy trinity of furby bloggers?

But have you considered: furbypurrs

You’re so right. We are not a holy trinity but in fact an furbpocalyptic quartet
