btw if ur one of those people who ever says "i let the intrusive thoughts win today," either you need to learn the difference between intrusive and impulsive, or you need to go to a mental hospital.
an impulsive thought is something you want to do even though you probably shouldn't
an intrusive thought goes against your personal beliefs and morals, and is something you would never say/do, or something you wouldn't even think if it wasn't an intrusive thought.
let me reiterate: if you are acting upon a thought, it is not an intrusive thought. it's most likely an impulsive thought, and saying you're "acting on your intrusive thoughts" can be very harmful, because it can cause people with actual intrusive thoughts to think they might end up acting on the horrible thoughts that go against their very morals and values.
(p.s. don't ever shame someone for their intrusive thoughts being problematic; they didn't choose to think those things. they do not want to think those things.)
