Life course approach and intergenerational health virtual side event UNGA Summit 21 Sept 2024

WHO, in partnership with UNDESA, UNFPA, WHO Regional Office for Africa, WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia, Pan American Health Organization (WHO Regional Office for the Americas), WHO Regional office for the Western Pacific, Member States – Dominican Republic, Japan, Sierra Leone, and HelpAge International, is hosting a virtual side event at the United Nations Summit of the Future Action Days, titled

"Life Course Approach and Intergenerational Health: Discussing a WHO Framework on Operationalizing a Life Course Approach."

This event will feature speakers and panelists from UN agencies, Member States and civil society to discuss a WHO framework that provides principles on what is required to put in place a life course approach, along with practical, evidence-based examples of what is being done to optimize people’s health and well-being trajectories across the life course.  Examples from countries across all regions are included. This covers a good start in life, infants and childhood, adolescence and youth, adulthood, and healthy ageing.
