Report concerning User:Kambaiyu75

Item/lexeme creations and statements added by this user for the most part are nonsense. E.g. their last item Afan (Q131279322) has two statements that don't add up, and there's no other information based on which the item could be cleared up. In their lexemes like invalid ID (L1378339) all statements individually are nonsense. Hard to say if they deliberately enter nonsense or if they just have no understanding of what they are doing. Probably all their items/lexemes should be deleted and user should be blocked. 2001:7D0:81F8:9A80:EC43:3A7B:4AED:5ED7 09:28, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have partially blocked the user from the main namespace as a precaution. I will wait a little longer for an explanation before deleting those items/lexemes — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unless we get a response soon, I'm inclined to delete all of the lexemes as nonsense. Their items make a little more sense, but fail to establish notability. Bovlb (talk) 00:36, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please do. Apparently my block only applies to items and they are still creating new lexemes — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:40, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MSGJ, Bovlb: It appears that the user has taken notice of the block. Mahir256 (talk) 16:50, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed contributions from some other participants in this datathon. I found a lot of items that had no indication of notability, several empty items, and a number of duplicate items. There's also a lot of lexemes, but I'm not really qualified to judge them. It looks like this program did not prepare its participants to contribute effectively. Bovlb (talk) 16:57, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I put a block template on their talk page. Bovlb (talk) 17:01, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I looked through the contributions of more participants of this event. I see many more new editors leaping straight into mass item creation without a strong grasp on notability, often creating empty items and duplicates. The editors don't seem to be responsive to feedback. I wish there was a way to ensure that such organized events started off with training that emphasized the importance of these points. Bovlb (talk) 04:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is rather concerning. I am pinging a few editors who are identified as "key people" of the user group: @Valtino44, @Friday musa, @Bello Lydia, @Zbobai — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:27, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Many of them seem to be using mobile interfaces, so en:WP:THEYCANTHEARYOU may be in play. Bovlb (talk) 17:11, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like this one is set to disappear with no response. I for one am getting a little tired of these externally-imposed WMF-funded programs that result in bulk item creation with inadequate training, no respect for local policies and norms, and a failure to engage with the community. Is it time for us to consider something akin to en:Wikipedia:Village_pump_(WMF)/Archive_6#RfC_to_issue_a_non-binding_resolution_to_the_Wikimedia_Foundation? Add new article to Wikidata

Dear moderators, I’m a student of art and design from University of North Dakota, Department of Art & Design, So I was assigned to work in search of information about Noah D'castellano Italian American actor-model, businessperson now fashionista, young guy who attended New York Fashion Week 2022, I do found information but not as verifiable as Wikipedia or Wikidata, Can you create a page for him? Requests for undeletion

Dear administrators and contributors of the Wikidata page, due to study topics and an important project of my University of North Dakota, this based on Department of Art & Design, I was assigned a project for which I’m responsible for 7 members, So we were told to work on the young Noah D'castellano who in my portfolio claims to be “Italian American actor-model, businessperson now fashionista” this as his profession and identity.

But more than that we need to look for information on how he started his career, and the most important collaborations that he has had so far, whether brands, fashion shows or films, to all this we already had a finished part but at the time of adding information such as nationality, age, date of birth, we had to resort to wikipedia or other wikis of the same branch, for that reason I went to wikipedia, in which I found important information, but I was not allowed to use it, since this is more in references that D'castellano is being listed for future editions of his official page on Wikipedia, these lists include (Lists of Italian Americans) (2005 in the United States) (List of people from Greenwich, Connecticut) and (In Franco Castellano Wikipedia page as his grandson).

But according to the instructions we have, these lists are not relevant since they are not made specifically for D'castellano, that is more to direct future editors who edit a page on Wikipedia for him. In this way I had to get involved in being able to see how to get a creation of a page for D'castellano but in Wikidata, this to make way for future editions, but according to Madamebiblio an administrator who was very kind in answering me, he told me that the Item has been created 6 times (2 times by a user) and deleted by different admins.

Other very friendly administrator, Bovlb showed me the relevant items, which are: (Q126736508) (Q127432586) (Q12636980) by (68.192.41.175) and (Q130360573), (Q128792500) by Imjuswannahelp.

After this he made me the reference of putting a new topic on "Undeletion request" to which I read all the requirements in Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion That affirm a full recovery of the last page that was created, by (Imjuswannahelp) referring to what I read.

On this occasion according to the administrator Wüstenspringmaus who deleted that previous page (Q130360573), was due to alleged irregularities with the repetition of it, that is, “to be a recreation of deleted a item” which only affects the process of a page on Wikidata, more according to Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion following - "How to request undeletion" in the final part lets us know that “The recreation will be detected, the item will be deleted without substantial review, and associated editors will be warned or blocked”.

In this way I obstructed creating a new page, since I had previously asked the same question in the panel I don’t want to get blocked either. “I know that the administrators are doing their job and that is very important, and they are thanked too much”, but it is also important to see how we can contribute in being able to return Noah D'castellano's page, he is selective to have this opportunity, since he is important in the field that I study, and maybe for other fields too, of which the database is already, just like I showed you the lists where he is in Wikipedia, on the other hand there are already several articles about him, the most efficient would be the (La Vanguardia) but maybe at the time of put the gender they were wrong, but in such a way the date of birth and nationality are clear.

In this way I presented the articles based only on the biography of D'castellano below: (IMDB) (Geni.com) (e-TALENTA) (IdolWiki) (EverybodyWiki / In English, Spanish, Italian) (Timenote) (Ask Oracle) (The Movie Database) (PeoplePill) and (Urban Dictionary).

Otherwise we have the articles of magazines such as (Bold Journey Magazine) where he collaborated for Salvatore Ferragamo autumn edition, we also have (Shoutout La Magazine) where he precept his work in collaboration with Vogue, in the New York Fashion Week 2022, of which the article is already and also as a documentary in (IMDB) also in (The streamable) we can see the article. This project for him was the first and most important, but he has attended the last 3 consecutive years including this year, we also have the same article made by Thompson Smith writer, in Medium magazine, in the same magazine we have Karen Johnson News who published an article about the career of Noah D'castellano under the collaboration with British GQ Magazine. On the other hand we have the article of (CanvasRebel Magazine) where he presents his current activities and upcoming projects, so far everything is very verifiable.

Now in such a way we follow the recommendations of Wikidata:Notability where it clarifies that the page of the person or other entity to be issued in Wikidata, It contains at least one valid sitelink, But this time an Page is available in Wikiquote, of which I’m very happy for, in such a way to give this as finished, I only hope for the best solidarity of the user collaborators and administrators and also other third parties like me, in being able to return the page assigned to Noah D'castellano, I’m an adult and I know that it is necessary since many young people who need the information can have it most readily accessible.

But not they can be verified at the time of handing over their projects since it’s not a specific true valid site like Wikipedia or Wikidata, as happened in our case we are 7 members and we have not yet completed the project for this reason, I know it sounds wrong but that is the reality. And thank to y’all and I look forward to a prompt response.

Tgeorgescu is supporting a claim the person within the article (Călin Georgescu) didn't made. On contrary, he clearly says he's an ORTHODOX (on his youtube channel 18:27, being together with his wife, she says "Religia noastră creștin-ortodoxă" - engl. "Our orthodox faith...").
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lctvzaN7j1s&ab_channel=C%C4%83linGeorgescu-CanalulOficial
I propose Tgeorgescu to be blocked from further editing the article. Thanks. GratarGratar (talk) 22:44, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would understand it if the mainstream media just spilled the beans about Georgescu's secret religious allegiance. But his public declarations are rife with New Age ideology. Tgeorgescu (talk) 22:46, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you have no respect for reliable sources, don't expect to last long at this project. Tgeorgescu (talk) 22:48, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
E.g., most members of the Anthroposophical Society from Romania self-identify as Eastern-Orthodox. In fact, they believe in reincarnation and that God consists of seven Elohim. Tgeorgescu (talk) 22:56, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have cited 5 (five) different media outlets which all confirm he is a New Age Christian. Tgeorgescu (talk) 23:32, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So: who are going the admins to believe? Me? Not! You? Not! They are going to believe reliable sources. That's how the whole Wikimedia system operates: based upon reliable sources. Tgeorgescu (talk) 23:45, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do note that I have absolutely no objection to also stating that he self-identifies as Eastern-Orthodox. Both should be stated: his self-identification as Eastern-Orthodox, and that he is a New Age believer according to several journalists and professors. Tgeorgescu (talk) 00:35, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those would be 7 or 8 journalists and 3 professors. The genie is out of the bottle, you cannot put it back. Tgeorgescu (talk) 03:36, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To be more clear: subjective identification does matter. But objective identification also matters. It is ridiculous to say that only the subjective identification should be believed, while the objective identification should be rejected. See w:emic and etic. Tgeorgescu (talk) 06:44, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is a living person. We have policies on this. Per en.wp and other Wikipedia wikis, "Categories regarding religious beliefs (or lack of such) or sexual orientation should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief (or lack of such) or orientation in question," and "These principles apply equally to lists, navigation templates, and {{Infobox}} statements". Wikidata statements are mostly used on Wikipedia as infobox statements. As such, we have our own Wikidata:Living people policy, where religion or worldview (P140) is listed among Wikidata properties that may violate privacy. So please exercise care: do not add religions that are not accepted by the person in question. If religious leaders and/or scholars question their allegiance to the religion that the person declared, then there is the deprecated rank that can be applied to the statement.
I'm not saying that in this case we should do that. I think the best way to go is to not specify anything there.
Yes, subjective identification is key to someone's identity and identity should be respected.  —Andreitalk 08:51, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I still have to figure out how stating that he is New Age is offensive, but allegations of bribery and corruption aren't. Tgeorgescu (talk) 12:41, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One thing is about what you are, the other is about what you do.  —Andreitalk 14:53, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Andrei Stroe: May I suggest changing the removal into a deprecated rank statement? It has the same effect. We don't normally remove statements with reasonable sources. The statement can also get a "statement is disputed by" (subject) qualifier to make it clear. Infrastruktur (talk) 14:37, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Infrastruktur true, this works.  —Andreitalk 14:53, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BLP concern - privacy violation

Please speedy delete Q106957769 BLOPvio (talk) 23:16, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BLOPvio appears to a LTA whose most recently locked account was User:Jeh Cyrus Vandrevala Q106957769. That account blanked Q106957769 and then BLOPvio nominated it for deletion. William Graham (talk) 23:18, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unlike that bad faith vandalism, because the user says "National Taiwan University Library Wikidata account". However, Chinese-language specific. Could you help @S8321414? Estopedist1 (talk) 07:30, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is more like editing dispute for me, not pure vandalism. I will suggest WD:PC for this case.--S8321414 (talk) 08:03, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
