Sternchen

[edit]

Mit freundlichen Grüßen, יצחק גולדקנופף (talk) 13:30, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Son of Friderike Albertine Juliane Gertrud* Ruhtenberg
  • Brother of Amalia Gertrud Erika* Prenzlau; Milda Eleonore Felicitas* Fromhold-Treu and [...]
Mein Datensatz enthält mehr Sternchen. Ich werde sie in Zukunft weglassen.
Beste Grüße BergwachtBern (talk) 13:38, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Family entries

[edit]

You might want to comment one way or the other at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Requests_for_deletions#Q125118469 Similar arguments are being made to delete entries of dead people linked together in a family because they are not famous enough. Express your own opinion. RAN (talk) 07:47, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Student = being notable?

[edit]

Hello BergwachtBern, here you created 63 new items about people which happened in the same minute. I browsed through several of those 63 items and I don't see for any of them why these persons would be a notable person. There is a none-sourced statement that the individual at some moment was a student and there is a link to a User Generated Content (UGC) website with some genealogical data (my experience with this kind of websites is that they are not so reliable) and that's it. Even the description field doesn't help to understand why these people were so special; usually you only mentioned something like "1871-". Well, many people were born in that year, so what? I would like to see for all of these 63 why you think these people were notable enough, but that is a lot. So let's start with the first 5:

Can you explain to me, for each of these 5 persons, why they should be notable enough for Wikidata? Best regards, Robotje (talk) 15:12, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WD:N #2. BergwachtBern (talk) 15:23, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Robotje (talk) 15:29, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you ask? BergwachtBern (talk) 15:30, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think I already explained that. Because I don't see any indication in the Q-items why these 5 individuals are so special. You made a reference to the 2nd Notability rule. Then it is up to you to come up with the serious and publicly available references for Erwin Mathiesen and so. It is about publicly available references (so more than one) that underscore the notability of these individuals. Let's start with Erwin Mathiesen. What references (more than one) do you have about him that meet the criteria to make him notable enough for Wikidata? - Robotje (talk) 15:39, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, you didn't explain that. They are students, as you wrote yourself. So they are notable per WD:N #2, because a student is a human, so the item falls under "It refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity and since they are students of the Imperial University of Dorpat they also fall under "that can be described using serious and publicly available references." . You yourself even found the external identifier which I provided for each of the above mentioned items, probably for each of the "63" you mentioned. Each identifier is a label of an external link, leading to a website. You found that. Now specifically to Erwin Mathiesen:
  1. https://www.geni.com/people/Ervin-Leon-Paul-Mathiesen/6000000190341954821 - serious and publicly available reference
  2. on that geni page, a further "serious and publicly available reference" in form of a description and an external link is provided under bullet point 1 in the about section
  3. on that geni page, a further "serious and publicly available reference" in form of a description and an external link is provided under bullet point 2 in the about section
  4. since he is a student of the Imperial University of Dorpat he can be found in Album Studiosorum Academiae Dorpatensis (Q106225824)
  5. since his ID is 14658 further information about him can be found in Album academicum universitatis tartuensis (Q127048055)
There are many more resources, but it is still not clear why you did ask. You had yourself established that they are students (clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity), you also did yourself find the link to geni and at that page two further links are shown (serious and publicly available references). So you had everything to see that WD:N #2 is fulfilled. So, why after I provided WD:N #2, you go on asking? Do you have some special interest in students of the Imperial University of Dorpat (Q28024477)? BergwachtBern (talk) 16:24, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

University of Tartu

[edit]

Hi. I see you changed the preferred inception year from 1632 to 1918 for University of Tartu (Q204181) and made other related changes. Please note that 1918 is the year when only the official name of the university changed, no new university was created. Nowadays 1632 is widely accepted as as the inception year of the current university, see [1], hence there's also "1632" on university logo. As such, Academia Gustaviana (Q56471819) is the first iteration of the University of Tartu etc. The university is also planning its 400th anniversary to be held in 2032[2]. Historically, during the Soviet occuption, also 1802 has been regarded as the inception year. 2001:7D0:88F6:6780:33:B081:FDF9:A66E 13:07, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My comment concerns your edits in multiple related items, so I wrote here to you directly. Anyway, I now responded in that other talk page. 2001:7D0:88F6:6780:ACC3:3251:942A:3F7D 07:20, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
