Motivation
[edit]The Bildkatalog is maintained by the image archive of the Herder-Institut für historische Ostmitteleuropaforschung Herder Institute for historical East Central Europe reserach / Image Archive (Q28735018), which belongs to the Herder-Institut Herder Institute (Q870192). A subset of the collections of the image Archive was already published in the German digital Bibliothek Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (Q621630). The documentation of the visualized objects, persons, events etc. is mapped to the GND-ID GND ID (Q54506313) and the Wikidata-Identifier "QID"Wikidata Q identifier (Q43649390) and the Wikipedida articles to deliver context information to the users of the online database (Bildkatalog). For wikidata users, links to Bildkatalog provides access to supplementary image sources for the objects, persons and events of the respective Wikipedia article.
