- Motivation
GoodReads is a popular book review and recommendation website. Author profiles already link to Wikipedia. See also Wikidata:Property proposal/GoodReads book ID. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:43, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Support This property will provide an identifier for many authors who do not feature in the authority files that we already use. Sic19 (talk) 22:17, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support I think this is a good idea, GoodReads is a good source. However, I think the ID is just the numeric value (428754 in the case of Tim Berners Lee). You can put anything you like after the number and a '.' and it goes to the same web page. Is there a page anywhere explaining the ID, how it is set and used? @Pigsonthewing, Sic19, ArthurPSmith: Done It seems that all urls starting with http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/428754 redirect to http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/428754.Tim_Berners_Lee, so keeping "428754.Tim_Berners_Lee" as the ID. Now Goodreads author ID (P2963). Lymantria (talk) 05:31, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
