Motivation
[edit]WikiProject every politician has more than 50 participants and couldn't be pinged. Please post on the WikiProject's talk page instead. Wikidata already has an external identifier Property:P6616 for the Library of Parliament of Canada, but it only identifies people. An identifier for electoral districts (ridings) would help keep the linked data between MPs and districts consistent with that of the Library of Parliament of Canada. Discussion
[edit]The word riding is not used much on Wikidata, electoral district is used instead. For this reason the property could also be labeled Library of Parliament of Canada electoral district ID. Riding on the other hand is how they are referred to by the Library of Parliament of Canada, for this reason I am undecided as to what label would be best. - Is the reason for the large number that there's an id for each current riding, but also for all the historical ones? ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:50, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes there is an id for every riding from 1867 to today. The full list can be found on the Ridings page of the Library of Parliament. BaubLeBuidler (talk) 21:59, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- I should note that the default "currently active" filter at the bottom of the page needs to be disabled to see the complete list. BaubLeBuidler (talk) 22:16, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
