Motivation
[edit]Most church buildings, especially almost all Catholic churches, have an eponymous patron saint (Q28914). Cities, villages (other places) and professions can have a patron saint as well, but in contrast to church buildings, they are usually not named after the specific patron saint. Therefore, as subproperty of patron saint (P417) and named after (P138), a property "church patron saint" could be created in order to avoid the redundant statements named after (P138) and patron saint (P417) for church buildings.--Leit (talk) 13:28, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Comment Subproperties aren't directly supported in WDQS, so I'm not sure this really helps. The existing properties with the same item listed twice seems fine to me. ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:26, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Same as above. Thierry Caro (talk) 18:35, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- OK, I had't considered that. A lot of work to do then for the hundreds of thousands of Catholic churches and chapels worldwide. Maybe WDQS will support subproperties sometime in the future.--Leit (talk) 20:42, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Nomen ad hoc (talk) 09:42, 14 February 2020 (UTC).
- Not done @Leit: please use existing properties per above. --- Jura 09:40, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
