Description	offset between page numbering of the file (pdf/djvu) and the main numbering used in the reproduced work (generally Arabic). Helps getting closer to the correct page by skipping prefaces, title page and blank pages. Determined at the initial pages of the document (e.g. page 30 of the pdf = page 2 of the work, offset is 28)

Motivation

Can speed things up when trying to look for a page in a pdf and one doesn't want go through too many other pages. Note the actual page might still be after that, but the offset brings one closer.
