Draft:African Stream

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

African Stream is a pan-African news organization based in Nairobi which publishes Africa-related news primarily via social media.

African Stream was founded in 2022 by Ahmed Kaballo, a Sudanese journalist who previously worked at Press TV. Kaballo describes the goal of the platform as bringing African news with an anti-imperialist perspective to a global audience.[1]

In September 2024, African Stream was banned from American social media platforms owned by Meta and Google after allegations from the United States Department of State that the platform is a front for Russian disinformation.[2]
