The Qayyum Stadium also known as Peshawar Sports Complex is located in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It is the biggest sports complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.[1] The sports complex has facilities for all major sports including football, field hockey, squash, wrestling and badminton. The sports complex is owned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It has an overall capacity to accommodate 15,000 spectators.[2]

History And Development

Qayyum Stadium was founded in 1975. The current site was selected in 1975 after previously using several grounds at the different locations in Peshawar.

The first grandstand at the Qayyum Stadium was a cricket club, which was built in 1975. Furthermore, there is another grandstand in football ground. In march 2016, the provincial government of PTI launches the renovation and beautification of Qayyum Stadium.[3]

  • Bacha Khan International Wrestling for Peace Championship 2012, Peshawar[7]
  • Wrestling for Peace Festival 2012, Peshawar[8]
  • FATA Youth Festival 2015, Peshawar[9]
  • 2019 PFF National Challenge Cup, Peshawar
