Wikiproject Conservativism
[edit]Not entirely sure why this falls under "conservatism". It's part of events that led to the founding of the Republican party, but it was not conservative in the political context of 1854. Real conservatives in 1854 (such as the "silver-gray" faction of Whigs) were more likely to take the position that the less said on all sides about slavery issues, the better. - AnonMoos (talk) 07:12, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
