Black metal
[edit]This is for User:StarScream1007 and others who for some reason think this album is not black metal. Yes, it's not a pure black metal album because it's been fused with other genres but it still is partly black metal. Just because the band refuses to call it black metal doesn't make that true. The music itself is still black metal albeit experimental. It still has many elements from bm. The band even acknowledges (even though they say they are not black metal) that the foundation of their music is still built on black metal. It just happens to have other stuff added to it, like psychedelic rock, progressive rock, etc. and it's not in the same vein as the old school black metal that the band respects so much. It's something new. 98.238.160.232 (talk) 07:23, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's too controversial to put black metal in the genre box. Granted, they were heavily influenced by the genre, their sound would not be considered black metal; It does not sound anything like any of the respected classic or modern black metal acts. I understand your point, but believe that such a point should be mentioned elsewhere. The infobox should only give quick facts, which should be elaborated in the body of the article. "Extreme metal" is better because it offers a broad blanket that covers the band's current sound. If you listen to this album with the mindset that it’s a black metal album, you're not going to like it. If you listen to it with the mindset that it’s a Psychedelic/Experimental album, you're not going to fully appreciate it. --68.57.235.134 (talk) 03:46, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
