Track listings
[edit]These should be removed. They make this article too long and add nothing to the reader's understanding of the article's subject. I can see that a lot of work has gone into them but ultimately they're just an indiscriminate collection of information. danno 20:31, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
I think it's pretty relevant information - I have in the past visited the page for the specific purpose of perusing this list - "oh, what song was that?" or "who did Earworm use mostly this year?". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 18.111.11.222 (talk) 19:55, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
citation on long quote for 2011?
[edit]There is a long quote at the end of the USoP 2011 section, without a reference. Where'd it come from? (It was added by Hapsiperson on 1/2/12) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 18.111.11.222 (talk) 19:57, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Full protection
[edit]I have fully protected the article to stop the edit warring. Please discuss the disputed content here. Please note that my protection is not an endorsement of the current version. If edit warring resumes after the protection expires, then blocks will likely be handed out instead. Qwyrxian (talk) 07:03, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I can see that this is edit warring from an outside user. These IPs have been coming to this page, which I feel are all the same person, and changing dates of song releases, which are correctly sourced, without a new source for the change. The IPs have now gone to removing the content regarding backing track content for the songs, which are also sourced correctly. I am not trying to edit war with theses IPs. I just want to keep that page at a correct, stable version so that more pertinent info can be added, or correctly sourced, different info. I have added warnings to all of the IPs talk pages, and if they are the same person, they have gone on deaf ears. -Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:22, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Also, I am perfectly fine with just walking away from this situation, if deemed necessary. -Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:33, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- The only reason I chose full protection was that I saw that at least some of the IP edits were removing unsourced information, and you seemed to be edit-warring to reinclude it; that worried me enough that I couldn't be certain it was fair to privilege one "side" of the edit war over the other. But if you confirm that the info can be sourced as I mentioned in the edit request below, I'll drop to semi-protection. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:38, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you. I don't want to make a big deal about this, but some of the changes (mostly the dates) have been happening since the end of 2012 and it's just been frustrating. And looking over some of the edited content, I know what can be sourced and what can't and should be removed, so I can take care of that (as noted in my edit request below). -Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:47, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

It was a bad idea, only allowing administators to edit this page because the administators have given false information. In Blame It On The Pop, 2009, "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga was used in the mash-up, not "Shattered Like" by Rivermaya. In World Go Boom, 2011, "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga was used in the mash-up, not "God Gave Me You" by Bryan White. And in Shine Brighter, 2012, "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen was used in the mash-up, not "Sa Isang Sulyap Mo" by 1:43. I really want you to make these changes right now! PLEASE! PLEASE!

- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Admins don't give "false information", they add verifiable information, as should everybody else. --Redrose64 (talk) 00:24, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Some blatant errors need to be changed, from the two IP edits before the block was in place.
For the first edit:
First IP change: "United State of Pop 2007 (Self Titled)" back to previous "United State of Pop" source
Second change: That whole sentence can be deleted because this date has been changed before, and I have not been able to find a source to verify it.
Third change: Madonna back to previous Rihanna. source (in video description)
Fourth change: fine
Fifth change: There was a source from his official page that stated this, but it is now dead, so it can stay removed.
Sixth change: fine
Seventh change: fine
Eight change: The large quote should be added back as it is properly sourced (valid source at the end of that quote)
Ninth change: All of these dates should be reverted back to December 18th. These sources were all valid and all of the info was sourced correctly.
Second edit: Here are all the sources disproving this IPs changes:
1. in the description
2. in the description
3. in the description
4. in the description

- So, we'll need to actually put the references in for each of those specific lines. Those are all DJ Earworm's channel, right, and the information is explicitly in the description (i.e., not interpreted from the video)? If so, they qualify as RS for this occasion. If that's the case, then I'm willing to drop this to semi-protection and let you make the edits. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:36, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. They are all his official channel and list the songs in the video's description. Most of the gathered info is from his official pages (website, Youtube, Facebook, Soundcloud) and only supplemental things from other RS sites. And I will take care of the material that I noted can not be sourced or there is no source for. -Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:52, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, I've switched to semi-protection. Thanks for the information! Qwyrxian (talk) 04:39, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

In "United State Of Pop, 2007", you should say "The Way I Are" - Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson and D.O.E., and you should also say "Fergalicious" - Fergie feat. Will.i.am. I want to make sure all vocalists earn credit. 71.233.247.36 (talk) 19:47, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

DJ Earworm released a new mash-up in May 21, 2014 titled Mash Up for What" and features songs by Ariana Grande "Problem" and "Fancy" Pharell William "Happy" Jason Derulo "Talk Dirty" and DJ Snake "Turn Down for What" [1] Josephlalrinhlua786 (talk) 04:35, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
- So tell us what published sources have discussed the mashup. A Youtube link is not enough. The mashup should be shown to have importance with regard to his career. Binksternet (talk) 04:53, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Links
[edit]I thought it would be a good idea that if a specific song listed as part of a mashup doesn't have a link to its own song could instead be linked to the album in which it is situated.
- Not done Per WP:EGG, we do not want to link a song, and have a user click that link expecting to go to an article on it, only to be taken to an album. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:14, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
YouTube Rewind
[edit]How about a section on his work on YouTube's Annual Rewind Mashups ? They get quite a lot of interest each year and is a testament to online video creators. Here's a few references for them. [1] [2] [3] [4]
