this is not my great grandfather's picture, according to his daughter

The source (Air Force Museum) identifies the subject as John Houlton. Furthermore, there is a strong resemblance to other images of Houlton. Zawed (talk) 21:09, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Main image isn't Johnnie Houlton

[edit]

The picture, isn't of John Houlton, his daughter said so - my nana 49.224.68.255 (talk) 08:16, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As per above, the picture is identifed as John Houlton by the RNZAF museum. However, I have replaced the image with another one identified as John Houlton. Zawed (talk) 09:37, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I will review this one this week. Kges1901 (talk) 18:16, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • proceeding onto England --> proceeding on to England
  • He travelled to the Mediterranean --> He was deployed to the Mediterranean or maybe 'was sent' since traveling has civilian implications
  • diverting Luftwaffe resources --> to distract the Luftwaffe
  • Link No. 12 Group RAF
  • ; the two Ju 52 transport aircraft that he claimed as damaged on 28 November 1943 are believed to have crashed into the sea does Shores state if German records confirm this?
  • Shores doesn't mention any further rank after promotion. It isn't explicit in Shores which is why I phrased it the way I do in the article, but I think he retired in 1955. Zawed (talk) 10:38, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
