Edits to Orfeh's birth date and real name
[edit]Confused at the edits citing that "Alimorad" is no longer Orfeh's "legal name". Since the page says "Born Orfeh Alimorad" and that is indeed the name she was born with, I'm unsure where the assertion that it is her current legal name is made. Also, since there are TWO sources for the birth date currently listed, and no sources for any alternate birth date, "fans" of hers should stop editing the page inaccurately. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MsEveHarrington (talk • contribs) 03:48, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Which version does she sing on? The deluxe 29 song version doesn't have anyone but Joe Cocker singing.--WPaulB (talk) 15:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
That's the correct version. She sings backup. -- Jennamaroney
WP:BIOGRAPHY reassessment
[edit]At present the article is really just a list of works, so it only constitutes "a very basic description of the topic". As such, I will leave the article as Stub-Class for now. PC78 (talk) 00:40, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Fairly minor edits: The External links section should be after the References section, and the "at Broadway.com" links should be removed per WP:SPAM and WP:ELNO #4. --Ronz (talk) 03:46, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Sourcing for birthdate
[edit]Hi all. I left a note on User:MsEveHarrington's talk page about this, but I'll mention it here as well. I've removed the sourcing for her birthdates because of violations of WP:RS. According to its about page, Doryoku is a search engine that derives "some data... from the english version of Wikipedia". In this case, it's likely that the text they have on hand is from an older version of the Wiki article, so it can't be used. And we're not supposed to use IMDb for biographical information such as birthdates, as the text there is submitted by users. IMDb has come up at RSN several times before, and I believe the basic idea is that it can be used for credits on films and TV, but its biographical stuff shouldn't be used. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 21:13, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- MsEveHarrington added a link to biographical information on her. Unfortunately it only lists the year she was born, so I've updated the page to reflect this. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 23:12, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Downwiththesyndrome - You reverted dob details sourced to subject's official website. I ask you to re-instate it per WP:ABOUTSELF. It fits in all the criteria listed there. Or you could just tell me how WP:ABOUTSELF doesn't apply here. Thank you. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 16:42, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- As you can see by the article's talk page and history, there has been edit warring regarding the issue of Orfeh's date of birth in the past. I have reason to doubt the self published's website authenticity, which is why I propose we leave the birth date parameter empty until a reliable source can be found. Downwiththesyndrome (talk) 16:54, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- We *allow* self-published sources (self here means, "subject") for basic biographical details and even have a policy in place. Self-published here should not be confused with website made by a fan or hater. And, edit-warring is not really a reason to omit information. As to authenticity of the website, it is quite easy to confirm. You can open website and see that her verified social media accounts link back to website.
