Inconsitencies in the text
[edit]The introduction stated the following:
"The bill was enacted to compensate Lower Canadians who lost property during the Rebellions of 1837 and was modelled on similar measures which provided compensation in Upper Canada. Those who had participated in the Rebellion were to be compensated with taxpayer's money except for those who had been tried and convicted of high treasonItalic text."
This was the case in Upper Canada, but not in Lower Canada, and the context is correctly explained further down in the article. I have reformulated it to make it consistent.
This correction is based on witnesses's accounts. I will provide the source soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MHSche (talk • contribs) 15:24, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
