[edit]Perhaps some info on his olympic accomplishments, like the fact that he's the first american to take home gold in this event in 10 years? --lightdarkness (talk) 04:03, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Why don't you put it in yourself? :-) I mean, the article *was* just created today -- cut us some slack here... --Andy Saunders 04:18, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Technique
[edit]For a non-specialist, it is difficult to assess his qualities as a skier, especially the technical skills. Could someone with relevant expertise please update the article with such info?! Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.67.114.58 (talk) 08:10, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
I would like to point out that he is (was) able to race in an extreme tilted position, his bottom is very down in turns (more than his opponents are able to accomplish). Skiscout (talk) 10:21, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Citation
[edit]Dear Sir, I did cit. the German Wikipedia and the FIS-websites (and by knowing by myself). - Now (date January 17th, 2017) we will hope that Ted will have a comeback. In regard to my notes to the 2016 season I would like to express that he didn't finish several races (he did fall down or did straddle in a first or in a second leg) but - since 2005 - he did never miss a second leg because being too slow (only the first 30 racers are allowed to compete in a second leg as in a giant slalom as "special slalom". Skiscout (talk) 10:15, 17 January 2017 (UTC) It's to add that Ted was able to do better in second legs when he was behind in first legs; he was in lead in the World Championships 2011 and 2013 and in the Winter Olympics 2014. He did better in the second leg in the World Championships 2009 and 2015. Only in the Winter Olympics 2010 he did deteriorate, was clocked with the 15th time in the second leg but he did only loose on place in the total. Like in all sports there is a dependence to one's opponent(s) but you must do well by yourself; Ted could do it very often, he didn't surrender, and therefore he became one of the greatest skiers in the world. Correction 2013-14 - Retirement on January 17th, 2017
[edit]Dear Sir, I did see that Hirscher wasn't 6th but 8th in that final race (I did mistaken in my first editing, please excuse) - but as you can see - place 8 also had been enough for Hirscher if Ted hadn't won the race. - I am so sorry that Ted had to announce that he isn't able to race - and I am hopeful that he will come back in next season.
