Lawrence C. Marsh is a Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Notre Dame, specializing in econometrics, statistics, and public finance. He earned his Ph.D. in Econometrics from Michigan State University in 1976 . Marsh also maintains close ties with the University of Chicago, where he served as a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics and was elected to the University of Chicago's Quadrangle Club in 1993 .
Career
[edit]Marsh began his academic career at the University of Notre Dame in 1975, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in econometrics, statistics, research methods, and mathematical economics for 30 years . He retired from teaching in 2005 and holds the title of Professor Emeritus . During his tenure, Marsh served as the Director of Graduate Studies in Economics for 13 years . He is also a co-founder of the Midwest Econometrics Group (MEG), which has been hosting annual meetings at universities or Federal Reserve Banks since 1991 .
In the private sector, Marsh played a significant role in behavioral targeting technologies as the Manager of User Targeting at Adknowledge, Inc. There, he oversaw algorithms for the company’s second-bid keyword auction system, a key component of their competitive advantage in digital advertising .
Marsh also served as Provost (Chief Academic Officer) for Profology Inc., an exclusive online community for higher education professionals, where he played a crucial role in expanding the platform and securing angel investment .
Research and Publications

He has published extensively in academic journals such as Marketing Science and Journal of Econometrics, where he also served as a guest editor for a special issue .
