[edit]Moving this here because I don't want to have irrelevant discussion on the RfC page.
LilianaUwU, I wasn't aware you were the one being harassed, and I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm still confused as to why the WMF would have needed to get involved though. I got the impression from your previous comment that extended protection worked? (If not, it's my position that the community should have stronger tools, because I'd prefer to not have to defer to the WMF for any matters not related to legal/hosting. I don't tend to trust corporate entities.)
I hope you understand that I'm just asking a question about policy. As a trans person myself I'm staunchly opposed to anything remotely resembling transphobic harassment. /home/gracen/ (yell at me here) 03:55, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well, it did work, but there's still random stragglers. This is mostly a concern about LTAs as a whole, and I feel like there aren't enough resources within the community to deal with them... speaking of, that topic is being discussed on AN right now. - I should probably make more edits before I get involved in any AN discussions, but I would completely agree that if extended protection is the only/best option to stop LTA, we need better moderation tools. I'll keep myself posted on this and further discussions. I didn't decide to be an editor just to fix copy :3
