[edit]That biography of Kemi Olunloyo is bogus. Are you aware the woman is an attention seeker who lies about her accomplishments?
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2009/07/11/crime_victim_advocate_wanted_in_georgia.html
She lived in the United States for 30 years until 2006. She was born in Nigeria. She committed crimes and she lost her pharmacy license. She fled the US to Nigeria. She jumped bail. She was wanted ever since in US. They never seeked her out. She went to Nigeria for a year. She came to Canada in 2007 and claimed refugee status. She got deported 5 years later for being a phony refugee. It was not a political decision. During that time, she never worked or contributed to Canada. She spent her time attention seeking. When she went back to Nigeria, she continued being an attention seeker. She lives and gets support from family.
Take a few minutes to do your research. This woman is a nobody.
Take care. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.91.141.130 (talk) 14:10, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Carnaby Street (radio programme)
[edit]Hi there. May I thank you for your vote of support for the retention of my page, Carnaby Street (radio programme). After writing near 80 different articles on Wikipedia it is most frustrating to be drawn into such a long-winded debate for the retention of a page which I have to consistently argue for! Thanks for your positive comments, I hope the page will prevail. Harvey Milligan (talk) 18:50 (UTC) 25, July, 2015.

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Saint Nicholas A Story of Joyful Giving.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only

About the decline of CSD in Havi Ibrahim
[edit]Hello Bartlett.. I see you've declined a CSD on the page Havi Ibrahim. Although that's not a matter of concern, the reason you left in the edit summary bothered me.. You mentioned that the subject 'made a film which has 'an article' . I guess that you mentioned this film The Legend of Kawa the Blacksmith, which by the way is a redirect page of Kāve, which is not a film. Just wanted to make sure that you took note of the above. Regards --JAaron95 (Talk) 13:20, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- You are right, I should have noted the other statements of claim to importance. If you can find no references (hard to do when they are probably in a script unreadable to us) then an AFD may be appropriate. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:07, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Redundant drafts
[edit]Is there an easy way to flag drafts as redundant and save the reviewers some time, where the creator has gone ahead and created the article anyway? The author of Draft:Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Talal (which I speedied, seemingly inappropriately) created the article at Abdulaziz Bin Turki Bin Talal Al-Saud the next day. --McGeddon (talk) 13:31, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- If this happens just redirect the draft page to the article. At this point there is not really a speedy reason to delete, but otherwise a "duplicate" decline, and awaiting a g13 is the alternative, which wastes more time. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:04, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]You bet me to the delete button :-) I have already blocked the user in question and deleted their other contributions. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:18, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- I was thinking you were quick with the block as I was going to check contributions too. Thanks for acting fast. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:19, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- By the way if you are interested in copyright work. We have a bot that is flagging potential copyright concerns here [1]. A background on the bot is at WP:Turnitin.
- The bot is still early in its development and we would love to improve the layout. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:21, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
Draft:Grounds for Coffee article
[edit]Hi again Graeme, a while ago you've reviewed Draft:Grounds for Coffee article that I created, and said that it needed to be a bit more noteworthiness. So, after some very exhaustive research, I've dug up some more articles to direct the readers to for good references. Oh one other note: I'm planning to upload and put in their company logo, but I know that for drafts you can't officially do that until it's an actual article - so that's pending. I've really done a lot of diligence on this article and I've seen several other articles within both "Category:Coffee houses of the United States" and List of coffeehouse chains and can tell you that this is easily much better than some of the ones which are already approved and yet don't even have half the content that this draft does. If you're able to review/approve this that would be great. Let me know what you think thanks for your time and consideration! Zul32 (talk) 16:55, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Here you switched my TP to FP, noting that the source website is public domain. That is true, but this area of that website is a database of abstracts from other publications. In this particular example, the material that was copied ultimately comes from the abstract of a Phys. Rev. Lett. article, and that journal is non-free as far as I can tell. Are abstracts considered free? DMacks (talk) 16:14, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- No, so I have reversed my edit. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:59, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I'm looking for help in writing Disappearance of Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon. I was born many years after the event, but from what i can gather, the Ratcliffe-Gordon disappearance is second only to the Beaumont children disappearance for South Australians and ranks alongside the Beaumonts and the Disappearance of Eloise Worledge for Australian child crime history. Paul Austin (talk) 19:43, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- I don't remember this event, but I have a vague memory of Beamonts, so I cannot help you from any personal experience. You are going to have to show interest over a period of time, so that it is not just a one event. So you will need newspapers and magazines over a period of time, hopefully years. At least because NLA has better online availability of Canberra Times, you can prove that it is beyond local coverage. The NLA also has eRecources that include SMH, but it is down at the moment. You are going to have to do a fair use rationale for the cover of the newspaper you have used. ie talk about that cover in the text. The Woman's day quote needs a reference from Woman's Day but not a pile of others. I assume that you will use those references. If you like I can nominate for DYK, if it is three times longer. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:26, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Graeme Bartlett: The newspaper front page is there to help show the notability. Most kidnappings and disappearances *do not* make the front page of the major morning and afternoon newspapers of a major city. The Woman's Day is cited through the database i read it in. Paul Austin (talk) 22:38, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- I do see coverage over years so that is good. But I suppose there should be more details in the story. The still needs to be a FUR for that newspaper cover though. I am sure this is notable, and the evidence does not actually have to be uploaded, it just needs to be verifyable. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:41, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

I still have no idea whether I will review FACs (no plans at present), but I apologize for being overly huffy back then.Oops Graham/Graeme • Lingzhi♦(talk) 02:06, 22 July 2015 (UTC)- My involvement with FAC is to check some article for problems, and then fix the easy ones. I myself have not nominated anything, so I do not care too much if things pass or fail. One thing I have done recently is to parse the whole article into words and then sort them. Then alternative spelling show up easily, as do strange unicode characters, or stupid punctuation. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:27, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

HELP on undeletion
[edit]Hello, I posted a request to undelete earlier for Draft of Producer James Worthy. You explained the reason for deletion. At this point, I honestly understand. I am clearly just trying to recoup the information and formatting for timing purposes. There was only an issue with "infringement" on his personal biography from another site that one of our team members posted. It was not written by the site reverbnation as that is a site that original information is submitted kind of like WIKI. You informed me that the deletion would NOT be recovered due to that fact. Of course I still have all of the information I posted and again, I understand completely. But because that was my first creation, it took me several hours to format the article and I would like to at least have access to it and I am currently re-writing his personal biography so the information would not be identical to the biography that we use on ALL of the other sites that we may post his bio to. I hope this gives you a better understanding of my request and I would greatly appreciate any help that you can offer to get back to my working point. I am still toggling around wiki to find a way to work from my ending point, but clearly it has been deleted and unrecoverable unless I can get through to someone. I will continue to re-write the biography and if I can't receive any help then I will be re-creating with a completely new biography. Thanks for your prompt response on my last post and I hope to hear from you again. CValrie CValrie (talk) 03:29, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, Graeme! Thanks for reviewing my draft for the University of Georgia College of Education. However, I'd ask you to reconsider your conclusion that the information is already covered by the University of Georgia article. It simply is not... the university article would not properly house our information except surrounding the events of our establishment. We operate in most ways independently of the university, as do most subdivisions of higher education institutions. We are ranked separately and accredited separately.
Further, the College of Education appears in a list of colleges and schools already on that page - each of which links to a separate Wikipedia article.
Other universities' colleges of education (our competitors) are structured on Wikipedia in the way we're seeking to be. They have independent articles from their parent organization. Here is just a small sample of examples:
- University of Michigan School of Education
- Michigan State University College of Education
- Johns Hopkins School of Education
- University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education
- University of Florida College of Education
- University of Texas at Austin College of Education
- University of Alabama College of Engineering (not education, but still...)
- Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Peabody College
As we are older and larger than the majority of these, as well as being ranked alongside them in U.S. News & World Report, the primary published rankings for our industry, I again implore you to please reconsider declining our standalone article. I have a grad assistant for social media working to compile additional information, to be added within a few weeks, about our history, accreditations, and notable alumni -- data that is comparable if not more substantial than what other colleges of education exhibit on their pages.
All the best, Daniel
Update 7/28/2015
[edit]I understand there was a discussion about this page being deleted. That was 2.5 years ago, when the College of Education was operating with autonomy in digital space. I am the first web manager the COE has ever had, and I've been working for almost 2 years now just to stabilize our web and social identities. Wikipedia is now high on my list - would the appropriate procedure be for me to request undeletion of the original article?

- You can rewrite this, but did you write the slguardian story as well? If you did so, you may be able to prove that you did. But rewriting is possible too. Acceptance has to overcome the AFD decision that happened before. Perhaps the writing about the person can go in the article about the dictionary. But no infringements are permitted. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:04, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Graeme Bartlett, Previous AFD decision at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Madura_Kulatunga happens due to poorly written article without any national newspaper source references. At that AFD decision time Wikipedia editors cannot verify details about subject "Madura Kulatunga". - For BLP Prod we can wait for the time to be up, as little harm is caused. The reference that was there did not work. If you can demonstrate a hoax then we could speedy delete it. Instead I suspect it is a non notable person, but there is some sort of claim of importance. Though the team and league do not even have articles, so it sounds like a very minor player. Some Further Help: Draft:SkillForce
[edit]Hey Graeme, you recently reviewed the SkillForce page, and left some helpful feedback regarding what would be needed to make the article read less like an advertisement - sorry for that -, I have since updated the article and was wondering if you could give it another glance before I submit it for review - I don't want to be wasting multiple admin's time by keep putting sub-par articles up for review? Some Further Further Help: Draft:SkillForce
[edit]Hey Graeme, thank you for the helpful and speedy response, it is much appreciated. I am really struggling to get my head around the correct way to apply copyright tags to images. The pictures of the SkillForce staff members were given to me by my boss - I believe he was given them as a freebie from a photography studio down the road from his office-, and the ones of HRH Duke of Cambridge were taken from an internal newsletter I was sent. What would be the appropriate tags for these? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ElizabethAtSkillForce (talk • contribs) 10:28, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
- The copyright is likely all rights reserved by the photographer. Unless the photographer has given written permission, or done it as part of an employment or other contract they own all rights, and reproduction is prohibited. You will have to get the written permission from the photographer to release the staff member images under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 license (or similar perhaps version 4.0). Then the procedure at WP:PERMIT is to be followed. Otherwise the photographer can upload their own images and release rights. It may be easier for you to take pictures yourself. - So the thesis here is that Onomaticus is not the same person as Brunodam. In that case then it would be Onomaticus that could appeal the block. Another user can volunteer to take responsibility for the Berber articles, and if they do so I am happy to restore them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:37, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fleece pants
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Fleece pants, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. [edit]Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the contribution you made to the Bismuth(III) acetate page I started. Lukejodonnell (talk) 15:51, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Lukejodonnell: That was only a small change. It is not surprising that you did not know of the template, as I had just created it before adding to all the inorganic acetate articles. If you would like some other periodic table based templates made up for other anions you can suggest them. I have built them for sulfates, and perchlorates. But the idea to have this sort of thing was not mine in the first place as it was based on template:nitrates, and the Template:Carbonates also exists. Equilibrium-arrow symbols
[edit]Great set of articles on the methylboranes! There is a special arrow symbol for chemical equilibrium reactions, a stack of two half-arrows with one pointing in each direction. {{eqm}} is the template form of it for inline text. There are also ways to do it with LaTeX if you are doing more complex typsetting. I fixed it in trimethyldiborane as an example. I'm not sure how accessible the template form is (it's a graphics/icon that is sized to look best at wikipedia's standard text), but would love to improve it to be more usable if you have any ideas. DMacks (talk) 17:53, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
- Is there a unicode character for this? I would prefer that as it can be copied and pasted as is, instead of using an image. It could be boosted in size, as I think the → is too small too. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:49, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you and request
[edit]Thanks for creating the new Conduit Inc. article.
I added another comment to the bottom of the Talk page of the existing article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Conduit_%28publisher_network_and_platform%29#Request_for_Major_Revision_to_Reflect_Sale_of_Most_of_the_Business
As I spent a lot of time with the original article, I see it is full of WP:NPOV, WP:V and WP:NOR violations and has turned some of the article into an attack piece. My review of the Talk section shows two admin prevented many, many attempts to insert attacks, mostly based on WP:OR from people who didn't like the software and cited to online forums, etc. to get their opinion into the article. (At one point it was a protected article for this reason.) But it's all been put back in again in ways I make clear in my Talk comment. Many other mistakes, too, such as including facts about a different company with a similar name.
Do you have time to also look at these issues? As long as I spent the time to try to sort it all out, I might as well contribute to the improvement of this article, too. (Plus it needs to be renamed, I think, to reflect the new owner?)
I'd be pleased to go into more detail if necessary. Or I can ask someone else to take a look if you don't have time.
Thank you,

Conduit Inc. article proposed for speedy deletion
[edit]Hi,
User: Grump International has proposed the new Conduit (company) article (he renamed it), be proposed for speedy deletion. Would you mind engaging with this editor to discuss?
I don't think the editor has any idea that you created it as a new entry or that it was split off from another article, where as you may have seen, 90% of the content was copied almost verbatim. I added updated info on the company's acquisition. I deleted some information about the toolbar where I think sources didn't meet WP:V. But I left in criticisms about the root kit capabilities and uninstall issues because these had reliable sources. I write for Wikipedia all the time, with my real name in my user profile, and don't want to get a reputation for engaging in paid advocacy because it would make it impossible for me to contribute long term.
Most of the new article's language is just lifted from the old entry, contributed by many editors over the years and reviewed extensively by two other Wikipedia English language admins, Diannaa and Jeremy112233
While it's certainly fine for User: Grump Internationalor anyone else to improve the article or ask me to suggest new language or sources to improve it, suggesting it should be speedily deleted means it doesn't meet WP:NOT and is written like a news release. This was the largest Internet company in Israel and one of only very few Internet companies around the world to ever hit billion dollar valuation. Company profiles by Wall Street Journal, the Economist, the Financial Times, Forbes, etc, etc.
I believe the user is being unduly influenced by my disclosing I have a WP:COI - but I follow WP policies as closely as I can, so I always disclose and won't make direct edits.
As I'm sure you know, only a tiny percentage of COI editor ever disclose because they are met with such hostility. It's a shame because COI editing takes place whether disclosed or not. Disclosure gives other editors the chance to review work for bias before it's made live, which is a great idea. But it won't work if even very careful work is rejected by hostile editors. I talk to skeptical companies in the tech industry about this all the time -- I urge them to disclose and not make direct edits.
Any help you can offer with the speedy deletion nomination would be greatly appreciated. BC1278 (talk) 22:46, 20 August 2015 (UTC)BC1278
- I don't see any speedy delete tag. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:50, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
- You're right, he's used - news release|1=article|date=August 2015 - saying the article reads like a news release, may be blatant advertising, and should be moved to Wikinews or nominated for speedy deletion. So the step before speedy deletion. I don't think he has any idea it was split off from another article or that 90% of the content comes from that article. I think it's an unfair slam and will lead him or another editor to removing it. I made sure everything was reliably sourced, did my best on neutral language and posted to Sandbox so it could be reviewed before any of it was made live. I would gladly address any specific item anyone wanted to change, but I think this tag challenging the premise of the whole article should be removed. The company is just too prominent and the sourcing too strong.BC1278 (talk) 23:13, 20 August 2015 (UTC)BC1278.
- Perhaps the style of writing in the article looks like a newsrelease as it might have been written by someone who has written many news releases before. This is primarily a complaint about the style of writing, so it might have to be written more like an encyclopedia entry. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:17, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
- Again 90% of the article was written by a whole array of editors over five years. I tried my best not to change the writing wherever possible so I wouldn't step on other editors work. I took from the Talk section that a couple of admins had been keeping an eagle eye on the whole article before it became overrun by attacks. I've never written a news release before, if that's what you're suggesting. I don't work for a PR firm and never have. You can read more about me at User:BC1278. I was a journalist for 20 years and an academic. Now I work in the tech industry where I have many friends who come to me because I know more than them about Wikipedia policies, since they know nothing. It's very hard to respond to generalizations here. I'd be happy to take it back to Sandbox if you or the other editor would discuss a few sentences. I've tried to write very flatly. The same tone has earned me B-class articles before. There is no flowery or showy or peacocky language that I can identify. If you can identify anything like that, please let me know and I will suggest rewording.

- If there's superfluous content, it's because I didn't want to remove anything well sourced that other editors had put in over the years - I'm trying not to step on toes of other editors. For example, I'd remove the sentences "In 2010 Conduit then-president Adam Boyden was featured in Forbes.com, discussing the link between successful social gaming and marketing principles." but it was in the original and well sourced. Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo Warrants in Georgia
[edit]I have an issue with a new edit which states "as of this writing her charges in Georgia have not been resolved." there is no reliable source proving that on a 2009 article. She was obviously not extradited from Canada and to my knowledge in the Georgia wanted fugitive database, the charges may have been dropped as her name is no longer in them. I think it may be libelous and should be left out of the article if it's not sourced. I have done some extensive research on her son, the autistic one she wrote about. This was a juvenile case that cannot be discussed and allegedly sexual abuse involved with her other child according to the autistic one's instagram postings. This child was 16 at the time and now almost 29 so there is a possibility the case was dropped. There is no reliable source supporting "as of this writing" Only way to do that is to contact authorities over there or cite an article proving so. Pls address this issue. I dont have a COI with this case, I have just studied it extensively. Wikicohen (talk) 08:34, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
I just thought about something. Those writings as u said were 2009 and not 2015.>>>I reworded this as this. As of this 2009 writings the warrants for her arrest in the United States is still unresolved.[14][15] Is it OK? Also her name was edited correctly by another user.
Wikicohen (talk) 08:54, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- The "as of 2009" sounds good to me as it matches the source. "as of this writing" is inappropriate. If there is no source, and it can't be found then remove it. Instagram posts by people will not be counted as a reliable source in this case. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:36, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
allow me to clear this up please, http://www.newtonsheriffga.org/PDF/WARROUT_defendant8-14-2015.pdf search the document for Olunloyo, you will see that she used the Alias "ashley" when she was living in the United States, you will ALSO see her LEGAL name is Olukemi Olunloyo. she has 4 outstanding surperior bench warrants for her arrest. this is a valid reference as per SJO's approval. Assistance with NPOV on Conduit
[edit]Will you assist me with a section by section review of Conduit (company) to address any concerns with WP:NPOV? I have tried to engage User: Grump International, who made the challenge, with the same request but they have not replied. Further research suggests this account is a sock puppet, as I think you surmised by looking at it yourself. The user simultaneously raised challenges to the related entries Ronen Shilo, Conduit (company) and Perion Network. The prior two (thinking of Conduit as the original article) have come under repeated attacks over the past few years and had to be protected by admins.
In any case, I'd like to fix any NPOV issues now, while my attention is still focused on this article. I've only added a or re-worded a few sentences, which I'll point out. The rest comes from the original Conduit (publisher network and platform)
The first section is the intro and I did re-word it from material in the entry. Do you see any NPOV problems with it?
Conduit is a software developer that offers mobile apps and mobile loyalty programs for small businesses, under the brand name "Como".[1][2][3]
It became the largest Internet company in Israel[4] before it spun off its sometimes controversial[5] website toolbar business in 2013 into the Perion Network, a publicly-traded NASDAQ company.[6]
I can move this discussion to the Talk section of Conduit (company) if that's better.

Shawn (redacted) Outing himself and posting libelous edits
[edit]Graeme, pls help me with this problem. This fellow should be blocked from editing this page. He is talking to me as if I am Ms O-O. says he "helped me get deported" etc. claims Ms O-O is not a Pharmacist and says her license got revoked. These are serious allegations and extremely libelous. Shawn according to Toronto Police is the same Shawn (redacted) convicted of stalking Ms O-O in Canada? Outing is not allowed on Wikipedia but he is posting potentially libelous things. Claims he has Kemi's birth certificate and people dont post such things online. Kemi's name is not Ajoke or Ashley. These are allegedly "broadcast professional" names in Nigeria and USA. He has proof of her outstanding warrants still valid on a website that may not be updated. Wikipedia requires editors to avoid conflicts of interest. He should limit slanderous items calling her a credential fraudster and saying she lost her license by poisoning a child. He has a COI in this article and seems that he's proven to know her by claiming he has her birth certificate and got her deported and should not be editing this page. I told this to Sjo at the beginning of this article. I am trying to finish up this articles with photos by asking you about wikimedia issues but this wikistalker is getting ridiculous. He is using two IP addresses. Wikicohen (talk) 19:26, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
Basically kemi is trying to create a false flag resume on wikipedia, in Nigeria wikipedia is very popular and I believe she might be trying to use the service to add credit to her statements in forums and twitter replies,. if you googled the subject Kemi Olunloyo you can see there is a very large amount of fake pages and "credentials" posted online, she used to use these to falsify her employment credentials to get into high profile events, what kemi is basically going to do next is start posting pictures of herself with celebrities in the USA and Canada to gain high profile employment positions in Nigerian Media stations, the same things she did when she was in Canada, just a little backstory on that. again apologies for this back and forth. She might be getting upset about all this because of that. Shawn aka 70.26.73.164 (talk) 03:23, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

as you can see Graeme, unfortunately she believes I am someone else, she has a habit of painting a dramatic story to get what she wants, I will leave this up to you. please review Wikicohen's recent edits on her biography page, I attempted to add a reference to her outstanding warrants in Newton Georgia using a link that was referenced by SJO himself, I didn't know it would cause all these problems. - Please have the discussion at Talk:Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, and I will join in there. A reminder for those who have a conflict of interest to announce it on their user page. So anyone editing on behalf of Kemi should certainly note it there. Also if you are trying to sell a book about her I suppose that too is worth a mention. For people editing with IP I suggest that you register. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:29, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
AFD Redirect undone?
[edit]Hi there, can you or User:Nick-D explain why you undid the AFD outcome of redirect for Bruce Hall (Australian National University), that you did here with the edit summary of "demerge triggered by edits of Nick-D" [5]? The talk page is still classed as a redirect, which is how I found it. Thanks The-Pope (talk) 01:43, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- The reason was that the article was merged, but then someone removed the merged content, so I reinstated the content int he article. The AFD could perhaps be appealed as Bruce Hall (Australian National University) was only added to the AFD at a later point and never tagged with an AFD notice. So most of the votors only considered the merits on one of the residence halls. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:00, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

- What I have done is add a link to "All Things Georgian" and removed the text. There was too much text there to use as a quote. And quoting is less preferable to rewriting anyway. Thank you for the alert. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:37, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
alpha order word check
[edit]Hello I'm on vacation typing with one finger on a cellphone so I'll be brief. May I ask what tool you use for your word checks? Tks• Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 01:25, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- It is a unix command:
cat malvern |tr "A-Z" "a-z"|tr ":;.,[]\" ()" "\n"|sort -u|more
- where malvern is the file I copied the visible text of the page. What is does is convert to lowercase, translate punctuation and spacing to new lines, so that each word is on a separate line and then sort and dump the duplicates. Alternate spellings and hyphenation show up easily as similar words are sorted together. And the context does not suggest that a bad spelling is correct. Also use of funny characters shows up too. But none were found in the battle article. I run it in cygwin under Windows 10. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:50, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- Good use of a regular expression. Cheers• Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 02:08, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- There is actually no regular expression in there, it is a special tr syntax, - for range and multiple to one mapping all the characters to one character. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:43, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Too many stubs?
[edit]Thank you for your reply at WT:Chemistry#Misidentified chemical elements, and for addressing my concerns. You are right that too many stubs could be a topic for that page - if they were in the area of chemistry. My impression, though, was not gathered in that area. And it is too vague and possibly outdated, anyway. Funny, though, that wasn't bothered by bot-generated asteroid articles such as 1904 Massevitch. I guess I trusted that if there's a bot to create them, there'll be one to maintain them. — Sebastian 23:43, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
- That is a good example of a stub that was actually better at creation than it is now! Anyway I find it takes about a week of work to write a suitable chemical article, with much of the time combing through references. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:05, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting case; I hadn't looked at the history. Personally, I liked the revision before this change best, but I'm reverting the last change (by a user who only edited for two days in June) back to a redirect, since I'm trusting due process. — Sebastian 01:34, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I was wondering how you'd feel about having your hook in Prep 4 trimmed a bit. If you want to leave it as is, that's fine, but I think that something like the following, which eliminates two of the big words from the original, would be preferable for the typical nontechnical reader:

File:20th World Scout Jamboree.png
[edit]Hi Graeme Bartlett. I have a question about File:20th World Scout Jamboree.png and I'm hoping you might be able to answer it. I tagged the file with {{di-no source}} back on July 1 with this edit. It is now September 12 and the image still has not been provided with any source information. I thought I had notified the uploader regarding the lack of a source at the time, but after checking their talk page it looks as if I did not. They might simply be unaware of the issue (of no fault of their own) which is why no source infomation has yet to be provided. Should I remove the tag because I failed to notify the uploader in a timely fashion or should I just simply notify the uploader per the template's instructions. One thing I am a little concerned about is how the other editor will respond if I add the {{di-no source-notice}} to their user talk page so long after the fact because past interactions with this editor have not always gone smoothly. (see [9] and [10]). Do you have any suggestions on how to best proceed? I'm really not interested further antagonizing the situation. Thanks in advance. - Marchjuly (talk) 12:22, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- I restored it because of a request in WP:REFUND. If the source is not fixed it will be deleted again soon. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:01, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification. I was not aware that the file had been restored, so it's a good thing I asked here and just didn't go ahead and add the "notice" template. - Marchjuly (talk) 13:13, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi again Graeme Bartlett. I have a few more questions about this particular file. A new version of the image, which looks more like File:20th World Scout Jamboree.jpg uploaded and added to article by Diannaa with this edit than it does to the image you restored, has been uploaded. This is sort of confucing since the reason given for requesting that the original image be restored in WP:UND#File:20th World Scout Jamboree.png was that it "was replaced by the wrong image" and "this version is correct". Shouldn't Diannaa's version be used if it's is essentially the same because it can be clearly shown the image had been previously published and better sourcing for the image is provided? Couldn't the version being currently used simply have been uploaded as a "new version" of Diannaa's version? - Marchjuly (talk) 00:08, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- You should talk to Kintetsubuffalo about this, as I have no better idea than you about what is going on. Note that the new upload is also poor quality with compression artifacts, and a source with no URL. You are right in that a different image should have a different name. Ronen Shilo
[edit]The AfD for Ronen Shilo was resolved by keeping the article because there was no consensus.
I asked the admin who removed the AfD tag if they would review the re-draft that has many more sources and more information about Shilo. User:BC1278/sandbox In the AfD discussion, you said the redraft was an improvement and I've added more sources since then. But the admin said the topic of the article was not of interest to them.
As you've already read the re-draft, looked at the sources, and read and reviewed the two articles on related subject of Conduit, it would make a lot more sense for you to decide whether to move the redraft into the main space than my trying to get another editor's attention, who will just have to re-do all the work you've put into it. That's a big waste of someone else's time, considering.
I did all this extra work to improve the article and it seems a waste to let it languish. As a disclosed COI editor, all I can do is make requests for review. Hope you don't find it a burden.BC1278 (talk) 22:29, 16 September 2015 (UTC)BC1278
- Hi, BC1278 I suggest that you do this yourself. Just paste the contents of your sandbox into an edit window of Ronen Shilo and save it. Since you are the only author that retains attribution. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:16, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
- That seems like a violation of WP: COI policy to me. Isn't the idea is that an independent editor will look at and approve or disapprove any proposed suggestion by an editor with a COI?BC1278 (talk) 02:27, 17 September 2015 (UTC)BC127
TOU
[edit]Hi Graeme, thanks for closing the Terms of Use thread.
You wrote: "COI editors will comply with the Terms of Use by disclosing employer, PR Firm, and clients." This isn't quite correct as written. According to the terms of use, paid editors must disclose "employer, client, and affiliation" for any edits for which they are paid. The employer is whoever is paying them (e.g. a PR company); the client is whoever is benefiting (this is usually the subject of the article), and affiliation is any other relevant relationship.
So they wouldn't have to disclose an employer and a PR firm and a client. They only have to say who is paying them and who that organization's client is. And often the employer and client are the same entity. Sarah (talk) 01:33, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- I summarised the discussion, which concentrated on PR firm rather than affiliation. Because that is what was applicable to CorporateM. In general the TOU applies. In this case disclosing the PR firm was the contentious issue. And disclosure of PR and client was requested. There would be degenerate cases where, user is self employed, no PR firm, employed by client, in which case common sense applies - ie disclose what there is, or say self employed. But those cases were not discussed in that RFC. I am not sure what you want from your statement - is that a variation of the close, a clarification or what? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:47, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

RE: excessive creation of stubs of stars
[edit]Thanks for your note. Currently, WP:NASTCRIT contains the text:
> The object is, or has been, visible to the naked eye. For ordinary stars, this includes any object with an HR catalogue identifier.
This maps to apparent mag 6.5 or so, rather than 6.0, and the vast majority of stars in 6.0-6.5 have an HR. Should the text on this criterion be updated? I admit 6.5 is a fairly generous definition of visible to the naked eye. Willhsmit (talk) 20:57, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Located source for Conduit > Perion
[edit]Hi,
I finally found a source that explicitly gives the new name for the Conduit (publisher network and platform). It's called "Perion CodeFuel." Here's the source:
"Perion is now launching several new products to target app developers and provide tools for app promotion, monetization and optimization. Two of the products include CodeFuel, a monetization and distribution solution for digital businesses that began and as a business unit of Conduit, and the recently announced Lightspeed."[1]
A second source explains Codefuel in more detail -- Perion is now calling it a "browser extension" instead of a "toolbar."[2]
So, I've worked the new information into an article draft which is located here: User:BC1278/Conduit (publisher network and platform) I've also shortened it a lot, corrected all the tenses (lots is now past tense) and removed unreliable sources (e.g. online forums), while leaving in the criticism of the old product.
While I have no COI with respect to Perion, I do with Conduit, so I should not make any direct edits. Is there any way you could review and edit the update? I'd really appreciate it if you could find the time to review and edit it, rather than just pushing the draft live with a flag.
If you don't care to do it, I understand, though because of the article split with Conduit (company), the process is going to be quite complex for a new editor to insert themselves into down the line, when someone eventually gets to it.
I'm still waiting for someone to review the Ronen Shilo article re-draft at User:BC1278/sandbox because I don't believe it's proper for me to push it live without an independent review and edit. That's my reading of WP: COI anyway.
Thanks, BC1278 (talk) 23:48, 23 September 2015 (UTC)BC1278

Hello, I am a bit confused about my article on Scottsdale's Museum of the West. It was rejected, then deleted because I hadn't edited it for six months, and now you appear, thankfully, to have restored it given a message I sent yesterday. Am I and others now free to edit the page? If so, I recommend you change the name, which I cannot seem to do. There exists a Scottsdale Historical Museum but it's not the one I am writing about. We need to call this facility Scottsdale Museum of the West to eliminate confusion and to make clear the museum covers 19 western states not just Arizona. AWB, Materialscientist
[edit]After not commenting on the RfC that was started upon his request (despite being pinged), and not commenting on my request for reinstatement (despite being pinged), User:Materialscientist removed me from the AWB checkpage again. Wrong "Borrowdale"! I was surprised to see the school described as 1km away from Borrowdale police station, as police stations are thin on the ground in rural Cumbria. It turns out to be Borrowdale, Harare, Zimbabwe. I can't find much of a WP:RS but there is this directory listing. I've recategorised it. PamD 22:10, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Graeme, thanks very much for your comments re: the cloud computing article. I appreciate your feedback! I apologize for my delayed response, but I've been traveling for work. I do realize that SAP's cloud offering has been identified in the press as being expensive. Nonetheless, it is still a cloud-based solution, and SAP SE has been steadily moving into that space for a few years now. Would you please reconsider adding a brief sentence about SAP HANA? Again, I think this balances out the article, and gives readers a stronger sense of which companies are offering these products. In all fairness, we might even want to include Workday, another cloud-based software provider. Thanks again!! Harper70 (talk) 16:14, 23 October 2015 (UTC)Harper70
- I think you should say this at Talk:Cloud computing. I think that Cloud computing should stick to the historically significant information. SAP HANA does not primarily seem to be a cloud offering, but HANA Enterprise Cloud seems to be the product. I would suggest that the SAP HANA article is boosted in content first. An then possibly a link from Software as a service. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:51, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Thought I'd point out that CodeFuel, the renamed Conduit (publisher network and platform) has been proposed for PROD. After it was renamed, Perion, the company that now controls the platform, started agitating for changes - an editor accommodated them - and the piece has become pretty puffy. I'm not going to touch the PROD or directly deal with the puffiness because I have a COI.BC1278 (talk) 17:22, 24 October 2015 (UTC)BC1278

Declined CSD
[edit]I respect your decision; I would like to say that the page was about an app available online, which is why I tagged it as web content. I've had other apps that I tagged deleted that way. 331dot (talk) 11:47, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- And I even voted that an RFC that we should be able to speedy delete apps and software articles, but the consensus was against it. A prod will likely be contested, but if extensive review articles exist, that is a claim of importance anyway. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:50, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Page protection for Adele
[edit]Hi. Graham i've had to revert vandalism (or just trolling such as changing birth dates) eight times on Adele's page over the past 48 hours. Request for article protection. Her article was indefinitely locked but accidentally got unlocked when an admin lock was put on the article, and once that expired the page become totally unlocked. Now that her new album and material is being released this page will be busier than ever (unfortunately more vandalism/trolling). So I'm requesting a long term lock. Thanks. RyanTQuinn (talk) 13:58, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Empty Categories
[edit]Hi, Graeme Bartlett
I've noticed that you have removed CSD C1 tags from categories I've tagged. That's fine if they were empty when I tagged them and now they have assigned pages. I see it happen when I check the "empty categories" category. I just wanted to let you know that my tagging isn't random, I tag empty categories that appear on the Wikipedia:Database reports/Empty categories list as do several other editors who tag empty categories.
If you believe that a category that is empty should be kept because it is a maintenance category or an intrinsic part of a WikiProject (I try to catch these ones!), you can tag it {{empty cat}} and that will leave a notice that the category should be kept even if it is empty. And I'll try to be more circumspect with my tagging. I really believe with CSDs that pages benefit from being reviewed twice, once by the tagger and a second time by an admin who might or might not delete them. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 21:43, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- I deleted a great number of them though yesterday. There were very few that had pages in them. I should add the empty cat to help out taggers know not to do it again, as I guess they don't always look at the history! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:47, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: Online Education Services
[edit]Hi there. Online Education Services has twice been created by a user known as Wikiboggles or Wikiboggles12. The original article was deleted due to copyright infringement.
This same user has attempted multiple times to add promotional text to its related company Swinburne Online and had its edits reverted as they were obviously promotional. I do not believe that Online Education Services has been written by a 3rd party and its inclusion in Wikipedia is highly questionable. Text such as: "The first endeavour, Swinburne Online, was launched in 2011, offering Swinburne's highly accredited on-campus degrees through a supportive, purpose built online environment. OES has set out to reimagine online learning and advance the online education industry with providing a student-centric approach to online education," is not written by a dispassionate editor.
If Online Education Services is to be retained as an article, I believe at best it should redirect to Swinburne Online where it can be stated that Online Education Services is the parent company of Swinburne Online, making its association with that brand made very clearly. Wikipedia should not be allowed to be abused by companies seeking to boost their online profile. 58.96.99.58 (talk) 08:20, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
- You can merge, or redirect, or remove promotional text as you wish. I am not insisting that things stay the way they are, just that it was not so bad that speedy delete was required. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:36, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Groke archives.
[edit]Could you please delete them, as requested. They have the wrong names and it's the easiest way to set the auto-archive straight. It's a low traffic page and it doesn't need archives by month. Andy Dingley (talk) 18:36, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Spottoon
[edit]Hello! I was wondering if you could help me. I have a article that was moved for editing to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Syc916/Spottoon. But the admin I was working with said that he could not make the article live because it did not interest him and I asked for more feedback but it's been a day and he has not replied back. I was wondering if there is a way for multiple admins to review the article and decide whether or not it can be restored. Or possibly just give me feedback on what I should change so that it can be restored. Thank you. Syc916 (talk) 01:15, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- I have put an AFC template on it, so that will attract someone to review it eventually. Don't get worried about a delay of a day, 2 weeks is more the expectation here. Question for you
[edit]Think about this for a moment: why would anyone need to contact their lawyer to get a copy of an obiturary? You should crop the DL image and try running the image through a reverse Google image search. Viriditas (talk) 03:22, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
- Actually that was to get a death certificate, which is way over the top for this purpose. I would expect to see an obiturary in a newspaper. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:24, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

- I have already asked for the link to the obituary, but he does not have it. So a bit of inconsistency with whether or not he has just seen it or has it on hand. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:38, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Gunpo Royal Azalea Festival
[edit]A tag has been placed on Gunpo Royal Azalea Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Miljenko Horvat
[edit]Hello. I see that you've recreated the page for Miljenko Horvat, as it is now claimed that he died in 2012. Well, he's happily alive on Facebook and he was writing his blog as recently as 2014. The article has many references to the present time. Moreover, someone with the user name mhorvat2 was editing the article in October. When the article was deleted under WP:BLPPROD, someone recreated it about a week later, and then a block was placed on recreating an article with that name except by administrators for a year. Claiming to be dead is certainly novel way to circumvent the deletion process. Curiocurio 21:19, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- I am now suspecting that there is more than one person with that name, and the one that deceased in 2012 is a different one. ( http://www.msu.hr/#/en/19672/ ) The Bloomberg reference should be enough to avoid blpprod. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:49, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
You undeleted this at REFUND, and I was looking sceptically at it and thinking of taking it to AfD as a non-notable CV-type article; but I see there is also a draft at Draft:Miljenko Horvat which has a few more refs but has been (IMO correctly) declined as non-notable ten days ago. I'm not sure what's best to do here. I think the article should be deleted so that the draft can be progressed, but how? G6 saying "not ready for mainspace, draft in progress" ? Ideas? JohnCD (talk) 22:35, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- It looks like the draft and the main article have a close connection, and so could be history merged. An AFD could then take care of it. I am not sure about draft being a copyvio as the same author is involved. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:39, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, hist-merge is a good idea. If the article went to AfD now it might well end as move to draft for development. I will merge the article history in behind the draft, omitting only a few recent revisions where you undeleted it. The other guy had still better be "Miljenko Horvat (poet)", at least for the moment. JohnCD (talk) 22:59, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
I've contacted (talk) for undelete an for reasons I do not understand he has denied. Eric is followed by 100,000's of people, on Major TV shows, in magazines like GQ, Time, US Weekly and widely considered a fashion icon by the fashion industry.
I appose to it as with Eric West there is more than enough coverage to warrant a keep. "world's ultimate Renaissance man" Complex magazine. [13], "influencers" [14], "The 25 Hottest Actors Under 35" Vibe [15], "Expect Big Things from this Hollywood Star, Eric West has been on our radar for a while now, his spot on our list of ones to watch was recently cemented in place."Barneys New York [16], "Style Icon" Askmen [17], "A-list" China Daily [18] US Weekly [19] Esquire [20] InStyle [21] Time [22] various issues of GQ [23] [24], followed up 100,000's of people on social media, face of huge campaigns [25] [26]. Stars as Garrett on Satisfaction on USA Network and many other shows. [27] "Prince of Fashion Week" [28] Shorty Award nomination for Actor of the Year Hollywood Reporter [29]
For him to not have even a stub doesn't seem right.
I tired to add it to [30] but I don't think I'm doing it right. Alejandrad117 (talk) 22:42, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Alejandrad117: The reason Sandstein denied your review request, is that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eric West (5th nomination) looks to be correctly closed. I don't think that you can get the deletion discussion overturned, but perhaps you can ask for "permit re-creation" if you have new information about why the person is now notable. The reasons given will have to address the previous AFD concerns. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:01, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
How do you go about doing that? I don't get how someone can be in Time magazine but not allowed to have a Wiki page? Alejandrad117 (talk) 00:25, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File requesting deletion
[edit]Hi Graeme,
Long time we haven't had a chat.
I am nominating this file for deletion because it is just a private photo for my userpage, until I decided to remove it. I am looking at the different speedy deletion criteria especially G7. I only uploaded the file three days ago so would that be a valid deletion request. I am just wondering because I normally upload my files to Commons.
Could you please help :)
Thanks, --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:27, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
- Done Hi @EurovisionNim:. You did the right thing with the delete nomination, so I am surprised no one got to delete it before me. But just asking me or some other admin to do the delete can work too for a deletion of stuff you put there yourself. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:46, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Disappointed
[edit]Mr Bartlett,
I am writing to you as the parent of a teenage son who just last week you attempted to bully and harass because he is gay. I am extremely proud of my son, not just for the endearing, hard-working and well-mannered young man he has turned out to be, but also because of everything he has had to endure in life and the way he has turned out despite this. Maybe when you sent your vile message, you felt justified because of the way you feel. Maybe you didn't think it would cause any harm. That is where you are very wrong. My son has faced harassment and victimisation all his life because of who he is. It is not a life he chooses. It is not a "choice" that he controls. It is not something he forces on anyone else. He is kind and gentle. Someone I am proud to call my son, yet still there are people like yourself who can't look beyond his sexuality. I say to you, Graham Bartlett, take a good look in the mirror next time you get the chance because you should be disgusted by what you see. Sending hate messages to a defenceless teenager over the internet, whatever your reasons, must be the lowest act. Whilst I spend time repairing the damage you have caused and reassure my son that not everyone is as bigoted and hateful as you, I hope that you will spend that same time reflecting on what you have done.

I'm not sure what is going on here. From reading everything above I accept that you were not behind the vile postings which caused my son so much distress, so I apologise you were falsely accused.
However, after reading the above I was discouraged to re-read your profile page and I can still see that there is a box setting out your views on marriage. Whilst you are entitled to your opinion, I feel as a mother I should speak out on this issue. It is heart breaking to me that anyone might think my son, or any other person, is less worthy than the rest of us, simply because of who they love, and for anyone to say that marriage is not for my son, that is what it boils down to. I sincerely hope you weren't behind the abusive messages, but even so the fact that you flaunt your views publicly is a really a kick in the teeth. This isn't holding an opinion, this is forcing an opinion, and it is not something I can comfortably ignore.
Linda
While doing a literature-search on a related chemical, I found your draft. Two interesting reactions:
- Synthesis via electrolysis of HNF2
- Reaction with H2 via a radical chain reaction (monatomic hydrogen is a key intermediate) gives HF and NF. The NF is in an excited state, the resulting chemiluminescence has been investigated for application to chemical lasers via this sort of process. I just added some chemical content about this application to the NF page.

Request on 13:26:23, 1 January 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Tony Thornburn[edit]
Tony Thornburn (talk · contribs) User:86.155.7.131 (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
The draft article I created on Nigel Konstam has recently been withdrawn saying that: “This submission appears to be taken from http://www.verrocchio.co.uk/cms/index.php/sculpture. Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly exists under a compatible licence and is written in an acceptable tone—this includes material that you own the copyright to”.
I spent some time editing the article to get the tone correct, following the helpful comments I had been offered previously, some months ago. If this is not sufficient, could the remaining ‘offending portions’ be specificaly highlighted please?
Moreover, a blanket deletion is not very helpful when trying to add to an Encyclopaedia for all in the world to have access.
If necessary I can get Nigel Konstam to issue a “Compatible licence”, but it would probably be more helpful if editors, using your ‘auto detection’ mechanisms (which I don’t have and would probably be incapable of using anyway) could point out. I have attempted to use my own words (and, as a previous university lecturer, have tried to avoid plagiarism etc) but have asked Konstam to edit where he thinks what I have said may have been inaccurate, or I have misquoted him. Hence it is inevitable that similar words have been used now and again that appear in his previous books, articles etc.
The article has necessarily used a good number of citations and references (which I have now entered in the correct format) because Konstam has made claims, backed up by his own evidence since the early 70’s, most of which has studiously not been disproved* or refuted by ‘so called connoisseurs/experts,’ call them what you will. Thus this proposed article, in the public domain, is important to academic study/art students past and present to aid getting at the truth, rather than opinion. Indeed, the article might not be appreciated by those with vested interest – of which I certainly have none in this area – which can only be a good thing, I would propose, in the pursuit of objectivity, pubic interest and scholarly study.
I still have to address 2 of the images regarding copyright but have that in hand. They are quite key to the objectivity argument - see below copied from an email Konstam sent me. Begin forwarded message:
From: Nigel Konstam Subject: 4 MUSICIANS Date: 24 August 2014 at 10:41:54 BST To: Anthony Thornburn
the caption would not come out but should read
The maquette (left) shows how Rembrandt placed two models in front of a mirror for his drawing of 'Four Musicians' (right). A.Houbraken tells us that Rembrandt 'would not attempt a single brush-stroke without a living model before his eyes'. The fact that neither of the models know how to play their instruments (the nearest flute is the wrong way round and his companion's flute is reversed by the mirror and is therefore the right way round) should convince us that this was Rembrandt's practice. There are nearly 100 examples of this practice in Benesch's catalog. The two paintings of "The Adoration of the Shepherds" are viewed - Munich direct from life, London National Gallery in a mirror (see YouTube) )
The two images accompanying could not be copied here for you to view.
I will post a new portrait picture of Konstam, which he requested be taken recently to address the copyright issue, with the photographer's specific permission.
Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

- @Tony Thornburn: Wikipedia is getting more and more complicated. You are correct, the only reason I deleted the page, was because of the material copied from http://www.verrocchio.co.uk/cms/index.php/sculpture. Copyright law means we cannot do somethings that we may want to. If you can get the author of that page to add a "CC-BY-SA-3.0" (or public domain) license statement to the end, that would permit us to copy it here. ANother way involves email as stated in WP:PERMIT. Alternatively you can agree to have the copied text removed. I am willing to restore the draft if any of these three things can happen. Note that putting stuff on Wikipedia does not make it public domain, and you retain ownership of the copyright. You have just permitted conditional use of the text. The tone and references are issues that can be sorted out without deleting the page.
Graeme, thank you that is helpful. If you can restore the draft please (it is only in Sandbox anyway and not formally promulgated) I can edit inappropriate bits, when various Wiki commentators variously spot errors, as long as they are specifically identified, and sort any images. That said I have not, to my knowledge, copied direct from that Vercocchio site, save gathering information to create this biography in the first place. Are you able to highlight (with a comment or something) what bits appear to be identical please, so that I can review and then change? I am keen to get this article right as I do feel there are important academic issues at stake. Certainly, if you think it advisable/necessary, I can in the interim get Nigel Konstam to authorise CC-BY-SA-3.0 immediately. Many thanks again.Tony Thornburn (talk) 00:24, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
Hi Graeme. I have greatly modified the page, and you may now release your horses. You are a prolific and diligent protector of copy writes, as I note you tagged this article almost immediately after my first save when I created it, before I even had time to edit it. I am still adding material comparing this air defense system to its western counterpart (the American Semi-Automatic Ground Environment SAGE system) I note that the SAGE article has been tagged as overly complex, and I wonder how much of it is lifted directly from a manual..... Buster40004 Talk 17:44, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Buster40004: It was not me that tagged it, but I asked you to hurry up removing the copyrighted text. The idea is to never put a copy of something else in Wikipedia in the first place. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:35, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Kerim Memija
[edit]I was hoping I could get you to reverse your decision regarding the speedy deletion of this article. The claim that was the basis of your decline is not entirely accurate. The WikiProject Football maintains a list of fully professional leagues at WP:FPL to evaluate notability of footballers. You'll note that the Bosnian league is listed as not fully pro. Additionally, his appearances for FK Željezničar were considered in the last AfD. If you look at the sources listed in the article, you'll find that Memija had already been playing for the club for about a year and a half when the article was deleted the first time around. Samra
[edit]Hi, I'm not sure where the PROD challenge for Samra occurred but it should be evident from my edits since your undeletion earlier today that it was baseless. The article now makes no sense at all, since the actual Megasthenian term isn't even the title of the article. What to do? - Sitush (talk) 23:20, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
You probably should also be tipped off that the person whom you say requested the undelete is a pov-pusher and pretty much a single-purpose account. This article has never and likely will never go anywhere because it is simply not workable without masses of synthesis/original research and reliable on sources that we reject every single day here (eg: stuff from the Raj era). - Sitush (talk) 23:23, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

- I think we already have a troll and very likely a sock. Your block reason means that they could come back with a different name. If they came back and was constructive editing, and no one noticed, then that would be good. I always think there is some sort of hope. But we just respond to what happens rather than predict the future. If the user is banned then fair enough find the other accounts and clean up any problems. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:37, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
- I understand. I made the blocks before I figured out who it was. And as this is almost certainly Kingshowman, we don't really want him back, do we? Should I file at the SPI to check for sleepers or just deny? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:40, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
- I am not the person to ask about SPI, as it is too complicated for me to use. You could check the user log to see if there are any more similar names. Since there was one new sock, SPI is probably worthwhile. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:26, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
- Fair enough. You may think I'm bananas, but I'm actually trying to see if a fresh start can be achieved. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:09, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

- When multiple copies of the same file are uploaded, we should typically delete the most recently uploaded copy so that the original history is preserved. The deleted one was uploaded in 2016 while the other one was uploaded in 2014, and since 2014 was earlier than 2016, the 2016 copy is the one which should be deleted. Also, if one copy of a file is missing evidence of permission, all other copies of the file are obviously also missing evidence of permission, or else information should be merged before one copy is deleted. The file which was not deleted lists one photographer in the {{information}} template but another photographer in the metadata and links to an external website which contains no evidence of permission. If I remember correctly, the deleted copy contained exactly the same information. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:58, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
