Sockpuppet Attacks
I requested full-protection of this and this. Hopefully we can at least slow down the sock-farm's attacks :-) ♥ Solarra ♥ ♪ 話 ♪ ߷ ♀ 投稿 ♀ 12:08, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- It's funny. If he had just followed WP:OFFER when he was blocked back in November, he might be unblocked by now. Oh well. Thanks Solarra; you're a peach. Ishdarian 12:12, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Addressed Concerns
So I was able to track down the contributor who added the information about Ralph Bunche and he provided further quotations from Henigg that drew a connection between Bunche's father being a possible descendant from the South Carloina Bunches. Henigg admits that this is not proven but says that he likely descends from the Punch family. Since PresidentistVB is now permanently blocked, I do intend to remove the factual accuracy dispute tag unless you have any further objections. I just wanted to seek your opinion first and see if there were any more inquiries that needed to be addressed before I removed the tag you added to the article. Thanks for being patient with the squabbling from a few of us editors and I'm sorry that you've been experiencing vandalism from a sockpuppet recently.Scoobydunk (talk) 19:14, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Scoobydunk: I have no objection whatsoever. I saw that Parkwells had added some content and if it addresses the concerns, then the tags should be removed. Thank you for your cooperation throughout the whole ordeal and thank you for your condolences. :) Ishdarian 19:47, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

JFRD
Ishdarian, appreciate the edits and help, but this article is a work in progress. This material was overly cited for a reason. Furthermore, the information being used is coming from an intern with JFRD and employees of the organization, along with the city. Please do not remove material from the article. It is being worked on. Thank you Kendrick528 (talk) 18:21, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Kendrick528Kendrick528 (talk) 18:21, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Kendrick528, and welcome to Wikipedia. I understand that you are working on the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department article, however, the information you are trying to included is a copyright violation of coj.net. The information must not be re-added in it's current state, and that's not up for debate. However, there are two things you may do to include the material. First, and the easiest of the two, is to put the material in your own words. The second would be to have someone from the CoJ submit an OTRS ticket. Just note, this does not automatically mean the material will be included.
- Also, since you are an intern with JFRD, I would highly suggest reading our conflict of interest guideline. It will help keep you out of trouble while making edits to the JFRD article. If you have any questions, please let me know. Ishdarian 19:09, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

RENDER TO CAESAR
Good day
I received a message regarding edits I made to the wikipedia page (not initiated by myself) of my above-captioned film which were either blatantly inaccurate or required clarification in order to ensure that your esteemed service retains its legitimacy in the information presented. This is information regarding pertinent information such as budget and distribution information, which clearly any earlier or subsequent contributor cannot claim to be in a superior or more privileged position to have intimate and accurate details of (notwithstanding arguments of 'objectivity' and 'conflict of interest')
The edits made (including cast and crew inclusions) represent the facts of the production and I would appreciate if they are fully reflected (unless there is some other reason why Wikipedia would prefer to retain unvalidated and inaccurate information from a non-authentic source, in which case I would have to explore other remedial options?)
Thank you.
Regards
Mighty Man Entertainment (talk) 17:18, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Mighty Man Entertainment: Hi there. The reason your edits were reverted were because you had no reliable sources to back up your claim. Even though you may work at the production company, your "facts" constitute original research without proper sourcing. Ishdarian 17:24, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Many thanks for your response. However, your comment of having 'no reliable sources to back up your claim' is indeed puzzling since the only possible reliable source (in the absence of any industry-accepted repository of similar information) concerning restricted information about the film's production, post-production and distribution is from the production company (which the site appears to have disqualified from commenting about its own product due to unproven assertions of non-objectivity, in favor, instead, of hearsay from remote third parties whose singular virtue appears to be that it is referenceable). For the record, the information about the film as currently presented on this site is in part false, misrepresentative and misleading, and I am obliged to notify the site of this and offer the facts (which I have done, and which it appears to have declined without the effort of verification, and chosen instead to classify as 'original research'). However, I do recognize that the site is perfectly entitled to the quality of information it aspires to make publicly available; for our part, it appears that we will have to make appropriate disclaimers to all relevant parties, based on the reasons presented in this discussion, about the credibility of what the site has apparently opted to publish.
Kind regards
Mighty Man Entertainment (talk) 12:27, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi @Mighty Man Entertainment: You need to understand Wikipedia's policies properly. Infact, the edit you made to the reception heading is one of the reasons it is not encouraged to edit an article you are related with, cos that is obviously not a neutral point of view: I tried to find something that can prove that addition but to no avail. And I see you have issues with the budget as well. Well, I will remove that just because the reference for it isn't concrete enough. But As a production house (if you are actually the real deal), a simple press release can always be used to disapprove wrong information, Instead of allowing it to circulate as a real thing. Cheers.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 21:00, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Your concerns
User Ishdarian,
I'm not sure what you mean.
I was explaining that the other user, "Mcgeddon," had been removing other comments (made by other editors) in response to the compaints which I had previously made.
Also, why is "condescending" the way that you would describe a comment made to correct someone's grammar?
Are certain grammatical mistakes acceptable?
Carl Spencer Krendel (talk) 22:44, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Carl Spencer Krendel: I have what appears to be a unique ability. I can write using the English language. and I still don't know what I'm "taking at face value" or why you think that writing with a North London accent makes errors excusable. are the key points I had a problem with. People make mistakes. Even you. There's no need to act in the manner that you did. Also, you brought up to McGeddon that there were other names on the list that didn't have articles. He properly deleted them. There is nothing wrong with his edits. Ishdarian 22:49, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Mistakes are things which we are supposed to intend to remove. Self promotion isn't.
Carl Spencer Krendel (talk) 22:55, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Carl Spencer Krendel: Remove, but don't be rude about it. And self-promotion is something we need to remove. Please read WP:PROMO. Ishdarian 22:56, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- I disagree. I'm not promoting my policy or asking for anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carl Spencer Krendel (talk • contribs) 23:01, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Carl Spencer Krendel: That's the point. You don't have to be actively asking for anything. Dropping a non-notable name on a list with an external link to a funding site is promotional and it's spam. Ishdarian 23:05, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
