About Israel's unforgiveable Crimes in Gaza
[edit]HI MathewDill,
I'm very pleased to see your honest interest regarding the current situation in Gaza , and about your intention to find the truth.
Fear not ! because i'll talk to you in all politeness,
I'll not harass or push you in any way as some people may drive you to believe.
What i will do is that i'll present to you evidence that answers all your questions,
and shall leave the judgment to you.
First of all , I'm gonna come up with a lil bit of history , Please see those article in which a
conversation between Ariel Sharon and David Ben-Gurion is quoted.
It's written by sharon himself:
I was summoned to see Ben-Gurion. It was the first time I met him, and right from the start Ben-Gurion said to me: "Let me first tell you one thing: it doesn't matter what the world says about Israel, it doesn't matter what they say about us anywhere else. The only thing that matters is that we can exist here on the land of our forefathers. And unless we show the Arabs that there is a high price to pay for murdering Jews, we won't survive."
you can find it in sharon's wiki article as well.
Here you can see , israel's true intention expressed by it's founding father himself , which can be outlined as:
- Bringing all jews back to their alleged "homeland".
- Murdering/Deporting all arab palestinians , so that the jews can leave in peace.
- Enforcing an Appartheid Policy on all those palestinians who refused to succumb to the israeli oppression.
- Bringing all jews back to their alleged "homeland".
Alright then, I hope this answered some of your questions regarding the intention of israel.
I will leave you some space to analyze this data
Regards

- I'd just like to say that the one thing you should never do is seek facts from people who are very opinionated.
A single, questionable account by a right wing politician regarding one of the founding fathers of Israel's aspirations for creating a safe homeland for the Jewish people doesn't make a country bad, America and most of Western Europe was built on genocide, torture and slavery, and many of the most important figures in their histories supported killing in the name of their homeland's security, and their countrymen's wellbeing. Currently Israel is in a very complicated situation, a ceasefire signed with the Palestinian Hamas expired recently, and the Hamas celebrated by firing dozens of rockets into Israeli settlements (ones devoid of any military presence, which is a war crime, no less) during the Israeli holiday of Hanukah. Now not only didn't Israel retaliate immediately, but rather near the end of the holiday, but the massive supply of free food, medicine, fuel, water and other (non basic too, like metal, which Hamas hoards and makes missiles out of) wasn't even cut, and recently one of the border crossings was opened to allow humanitarian aid in, and it's worth noting that Hamas has, several times, opened fire upon UN aid workers. It's also worth mentioning that while Israel keeps their border semi open during peacetime, allowing Palestinian workers into Israel, and supplies into Gaza, Egypt, with which the Hamas isn't even at war, generally refuses to open their borders for anything but weapon shipments into Gaza. -- M Nov ~ Look upon my work ye mighty, and despair (talk) 16:50, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
I actually seek to get some facts from people on all spectrums of the issue. Strongly for Israel and strongly for Gaza and those in between.MathewDill (talk) 00:12, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Portland Parks Photo Blitz!
[edit]<font=3> Want something to do this weekend? I propose a WikiProject Oregon weekend photo blitz! Let's try to fill up the List of parks in Portland, Oregon as much as possible by getting out and taking our own pictures or finding ones online that can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. The pictures uploaded will not only benefit the aforementioned list, but they will be used for future articles about specific parks and will fill up the Parks in Portland category over at Commons. Get your cameras ready! |

Thanks
[edit]MattDill, Thank you for your help on the article Culture of Oregon which I started this year. Although some thought that this article had no merit, I disagreed. Now editors like you have made it even better and more substantial.

WPORE COTW 2.0 - the picture edition
[edit]Greetings one and all. For some of you, this will be your first time receiving one of these messages, as it has been a year since the WikiProject Oregon Collaboration of the Week (COTW) was a regular thing. My hope is it gets back to being a regular thing.
Usually I would go over the past COTW, but we are basically starting out anew. So, without further adieu, this edition is our semi-annual picture drive. We usually try to do it when there is decent weather in the state, and today seems to fit the bill. Now although you are encouraged to go out and take pictures, you can also just search the internet for images that have the proper licensing and upload those. Flickr is one site that has a fair amount of content with the proper licensing (most images on Flickr are not compatible). See WP:COPYRIGHT in general. For some “free” sources, check out the our dormant subproject that has some links to sources.
Lastly, if you need to know what images we need, here are the requests. Please remove the request from the talk page if you add an image.
Finally (this is not image related), as the years have passed, we have lost many good editors, and others, like myself, are no longer in school or are working full-time or both, and thus are less active in the project. The project lives on, but it has created a bit of a power vacuum without a de facto cabal still around all the time. With that in mind, I encourage newer project members to step-up and fill some leadership type roles. Granted, we have no formal ruling junta or anything and no real defined roles, but there are many maintenance type tasks that some of us just took on to keep the project going. For instance, I ran the COTW, was pretty much the only one doing assessments, updating the portal, and even handing out the awards. I am sure others in the project can name what things they have done. The point being, that while I enjoyed those and still do some of those, I simply no longer have the free time to do all of it at a level that the project deserves. That said, I hope to start a discussion at WT:ORE where we can see if some newer editors would like to step-up and take on some of these tasks, which will hopefully make for a more inclusive project, and maybe get us back to the heyday of say 2008 when things were really rocking for WikiProject Oregon.
As always, please click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Aboutmovies (talk) 22:25, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

- And even more weeks have passed, and I haven't done much. Rather than compiling a list of Manual of Style issues, I decided this evening to jump in and copyedit. I revised the lead and did some work on the first paragraph of the Government section. I was pretty heavy-handed. I'll come back and do more, as time allows, unless you want me to stop. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
