The result was redirect to Morehouse College. Viable AtD. Should the addition not end up sourced, this can be handled at RfD. Star Mississippi 14:12, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

WThis subject does not meet the reliable, significant coverage from multiple, independent sources. It fails Wikipedia:GNG. The article is Wikipedia:ONEEVENT. Mpen320 (talk) 03:33, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

- Delete just a valedictorian. Aintabli (talk) 06:21, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- Delete. Still not enough for WP:GNG. Xxanthippe (talk) 07:00, 13 April 2023 (UTC).
- Weak redirect. Redirection to Morehouse College looks like a sensible alternative to deletion. Otherwise, the situation looks like a classic case of WP:BLP1E, with sources having no mention of the subject's life after graduation in 2008. The only thing that gives me pause is this 2016 CNN piece [1], which might tend to point to persistant coverage of the sort that overcomes WP:BLP1E. Since I didn't find much else past 2008, and since the CNN piece appears to retread the same ground as the 2008 coverage, I wind up at redirect. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 07:46, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- Delete. I would agree with a redirect if the article had better sourcing. Until then, I'm leaning towards a delete . Fad Ariff (talk) 12:20, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Fad Ariff: Adding sources to an article that will very likely be redirected or deleted seems silly, but the valedictorian bit was covered by several major news websites: in addition to the 2016 CNN piece, there are [2][3][4]; also coverage in the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education [5]. A search for Joshua Packwood Morehouse will come up with plenty more. If you're taking the time to !vote, why not do the search yourself?? Russ Woodroofe (talk) 20:23, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- I agree the content could be merged into the history section of the college. BhamBoi (talk) 06:43, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
