INGRID OSTBERG
As a child I was surrounded by beautiful gardens and music. I have always been fascinated by plants, flowers and the interaction of insects, birds and butterflies in the garden which was my haven. I would spend hours with my terrier sitting under a hedge or in amongst the flowers watching the sunlight dappling the lawns and gardens and following the movement as the breeze rustled the branches.
I draw or paint figuratively when outside to record the contours, shapes and colours from the landscape but when in the studio my work becomes an abstraction of this reference material.
JOANNE EVERARD
Joanne Everard (formerly Pearcy), a wildlife artist and working mum, creates artworks from her home studio in Lilydale, often with a focus on Australia's threatened and endangered species.
With a passion for the conservation of wildlife and the environment, she hopes her art will help grow the viewer's awareness of nature's diversity and intrinsic value. Capturing the subject's personality and unique features in the artwork helps to create a connection to the creatures we share our land and homes with.
Her predominant medium has been colour pencil, but she is also developing a new style with acrylic paints and dabbles in pen and watercolour illustrations.
JACINTA PAYNE
Jacinta Payne is best known for her abstracted landscapes, often made using reclaimed and upcycled materials.
Absorbed and inspired by her surroundings, she attempts to capture the strength and beauty of the Australian wilderness, and portray both its ancient terrains and its enduring spirit.
Drawing on her love of the Australian bush and an endless inspiration in the resilience and renewal of the living landscape, Payne’s art explores the coexistence of vulnerability and hope. The ancient landscapes of Australia, with their timeless rocks and cliffs shaping the contours of this wild land, are central to her art practice.
