I've been a customer for the past 10 years! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this restaurant.
If first sentence is not proof of the good food, excellent service and chill vibes, here are more details.
During our latest visit I had the Pesto Pasta with Salmon. It's my go to dish and hubby also had grilled pasta meal. Both dishes were good and flavorful. The bread with olive oil is always a nice addition to any meal.
The food is always consistent here and so is the service. If you're looking for a great date spot in Redlands, checkout Caprice. You won't be disappointed!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nick M.Idyllwild-Pine Cove, CA050Sep 7, 2024

Food was good overall. They didn't oversalt or overseason anything. Decor is nice and they have a live tree growing inside with some lights on it. It feels like you're eating outdoors, but you're inside. Waiters were on point with service and nice, kept up on the refills.
We started with the ahi tuna tartare. It came with avocado mixed in and some chips on the side. No complaints about the dish; it was refreshing and good. Oh, the bread they give you before anything is so good as well. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and warm on the inside.
My wife ordered the rainbow trout. I can't speak to if the dish is good or not since I only has one small bite from her plate and it from a bland part.
I had the crunchy pork chop. I love breaded and fried pork, but sometimes it's cooked too much and it sucks out the moisture. Did not have that problem here; crunchy yet soft inside. Without the dipping sauce it's good, but not super flavorful. That sauce is amazing though and really completes the dish. Side greens were seasoned well and were a welcome addition.
Overall, I would come here again. The food doesn't blow you away and make you think of it years later, but it is good! They also don't fall into the trap of being too salty/overseasoned, like a lot of fine restaurants do. Of all the fine restaurants I've been to, half of them leave me disappointed and I don't come back. This is one of the good ones. I'm hoping I do find one dish on their menu that makes me remember it often.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leslie A.North Redlands, Redlands, CA02115Jan 12, 2025
This Is a cute restaurant in downtown Redlands. I like the service, and location in relation to the fun stuff and happenings in Redlands. I only wish it was bigger but they do the best they can with the space they have. I had the pork chop and I was so in love with it! You have to try it!

Food: I came here twice, once with a dear friend and another time with my bf, I really really tried and wanted to like this place because it just looks so nice and fancy, but the food was not so nice and fancy unfortunately. I thought maybe it's just this one dish that was mediocre, maybe I'll like another dish, and so I tried 6 different dishes. Crab cake tasted alright but such small portion with 2 tiny circles. Wagyu burger was not special at all, even in n out cheeseburger is far superior. Meatball pizza was so salty, I felt my blood pressure rising, I had to drink so much water. Rainbow trout was very bland, it needed a lot more seasoning. Bruschetta bread was so hard to bite down on. I wasn't sure exactly what the spicy angel hair pasta was trying to be, it was confusing. But I do have to say that the food plating and presentation were well done.
Price: it was about $20-30 per main dish, but considering the taste and quality of the food, it was not worth the high cost
Ambiance: they really do fantastic job with interior decoration, so much greenery with a big tree inside in the middle. It has the high class romantic vibes that I love. There's also outdoor patio, you can watch the people passing through downtown redlands
Service: no issues, waiter checked in on us during the meal to ask if we needed anything, gave us balsamic sauce with olive oil with the free bread when requested
Parking: it's located in the middle of downtown redlands, I always park in the public parking structure across from marth green eating room, and walk over to the restaurant. But there is also street parking available everywhereHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - Welesy V.Serra Mesa, San Diego, CA022Jan 16, 2025
Ambience was great but the food was subpar. I tried the spicy angel hair pasta and it La med flavor and the pasta taste like uncooked dough. Service was amazing and attentive

Caprice Cafe is a popular restaurant out in downtown Redlands but it kinda falls a little flat in its execution. Is that to say it's bad? Not really, but it's not particularly mind blowing either.
We opted for some crab cake appetizers, wagyu burger, and rainbow trout.
Crab Cake appetizers were pretty good, prepared and compacted just right. But beyond that, it's just that: good crab cakes
Wagyu burger is what everyone raves about, but really? It's a good burger yes, but is it particularly special? Not really, but I'd recommend it if you're eating here. What's not to love about a good hearty burger?
Rainbow trout was probably the weak link out of our meal. The green beans were okay, the rainbow trout was cooked well and it was well, a solid 3/5.
So all in all, it's a cute restaurant with decent food in downtown Redlands but not particularly life changing.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 30, 2024
A friend and I were walking along State Street, the main drag, in downtown Redlands looking for a place for dinner. There were many options. The cute outdoor eating area of Caprice Cafe drew us in. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating was full, but we were able to get a small table inside, which also had a quaint appearance and was tastefully decorated. Once, seated, it took a while to get a menu and to get served, but our server then noticed that, and was spot on from that point forward.
The menu is quite large, with a huge variety of choices. It took a while for us to both study. As it was a hot evening, we both chose salads. I chose the Roquefort salad with chicken added. My friend had the beet salad with trout added. My salad was a very generous portion and it was tasty and fresh. My friends salad was smaller, but also less pricey. She said that she enjoyed it as well. They brought out complimentary delicious bread with olive oil, and even brought more when requested.
I enjoyed my dinner with a glass of vihno verde. All in all, we had a very nice, but casual meal. If I find myself in downtown Redlands, I would eat there again.Helpful 22Thanks 2Love this 20Oh no 0
