'Twas two nights before Christmas. Not even a lark, Not a heater was burning - not even a spark. No fires were burning, some mild alarm. 'Till McKenna came running, one tank in each arm. The heat was straight burning, the heating was fair. In the hopes of our orders, soon would be here.

Literally such a great experience dining here with McKenna and staff here at Stone Brewery! I've never been to a brewery whose service is better than their beer (as if Stone Brewery Beer isn't amazing enough). We'll be back!

Best mango michelada! So good we bought the mix and lager from the shop to make at home.

The ambience here is always a vibe, especially on a nice summer day and sitting outside. Even at night, the lights go on and it's always a great time at the brewery. Service is always friendly and attentive.

Food is actually quite nice here, we've had the ahi poke nachos (my favorite!), truffle fries, buffalo wings, fried chicken sandwich, and prime rib beef dip. All of which were cooked perfectly, had so much flavor and most importantly - a great accoutrement to all the beer on tap!

Friend and I visited San Diego on a fine Saturday
We were going to The Old Globe to watch a play
Decided to stop by Stone since we had time to kill
Was nice to sit down to drink, chit-chat and chill!

The brewery and garden is located in Escondido
Casual dress code, don't bring a dress or tuxedo
The entrance foliage made the walk there serene
In springtime it is probably more lush and green

Reservations needed, walk-ins if space permitting
Some tables are self-serve, which was befitting
Find an empty spot in the open seating section
Scan the QR code to browse their menu selection

Typical bistro fare like burgers, tacos, apps, wings
Sandwiches, a few entrees, salads, other things
Wine, IPAs, lagers, beers that are well known
No longer indie because Sapporo bought Stone

Imperial Stout has notes of chocolate and wood
Coffee, mixed dark fruit, vanilla, toast, pretty good
Mac n Cheese with gruyère was tasty, full-stop!
Aged white cheddar, parmesan, panko on top

The gardens were closed for a wedding reception
It must be a nice venue, that's my perception
Tour the brewing area, see it with your own eyes
Stop by the gift shop to buy some merchandise!

After a day at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Stone Brewing is the perfect spot to unwind. Their beer selection is outstanding--I got a flight featuring All Bark No Bite, Techno Sour, Unknown Dimension, and Winter Harvest. Each beer was unique and well-crafted, with Techno Sour and Winter Harvest standing out as my personal favorites.

The food here is on another level. I ordered the birria burger, which comes with a savory compote for dipping--absolute perfection. Most breweries focus on beer and leave food as an afterthought, but Stone nails both.

Great beer, amazing food, and a chill atmosphere make this a must-visit after the safari pack

After a fun day at the San Diego Zoo, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido, and it was an experience like no other. This place is absolutely massive -- the largest brewery and restaurant lot size I've ever seen in California. It felt like something you'd find in Colorado. The setting is stunning, with a huge backyard area that looks perfect for an amazing wedding reception.

The beer selection was impressive, and everything we tried was great. We started with the pretzel paired with beer cheese, which was insanely good. The mac and cheese was also top-notch, and my birria melt was so good -- cooked to perfection. Every dish we had was delicious.

Overall, Stone Brewing provided an unforgettable experience with its unique atmosphere, excellent food, and great beer. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.

Went to Stone Brewing after a day at the Zoo Safari Park. Started off with the pretzel with cheese sauce/mustard, always delicious. I got the chicken schnitzel sandwich with curry slaw. It was really delicious. The crispy chicken breast along with the curried mustard slaw was a great combination. Service was great and the food didn't take a long time to come out. I'm a big fan of IPAs and I got the "Delicious flight" of IPAs which did not disappoint. Great place to relax with great food and drink!

This facility is special for their beers, food, service, and ambiance. I am relieved that they have survived the numerous closures of craft beer breweries within San Diego county.

      8/18/24.

Parmesan Fries: perfectly fried to a crisp with bold flavors of parmesan and garlic, 5/5 stars!

Bavarian Pretzel ($12.50): this was typical in flavor and textures, 3.5/5.

Yellowfin Ahi Poke Nachos ($14.50): this was a good portion, while the flavors were satisfactory. This could be too sweet after a handful of bites, 3.5/5 stars.

Buffalo Stone Wings ($13.50): these tasted better than they look. The tangy sauce that you'd expect, but the crispiness and butter made this enjoyable, 4/5 stars.

Fish & Chips ($19): what's not to like about the deep beer flavored and crispy batter with the tender and flaky fish? 4.5/5 stars.

Stone Delicious Citrus IPA Apple Crumble Cobbler ($10): save room for dessert as this is a must get! The warm mix of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar is perfect with the cold vanila icecream, 5/5 stars!

Last week we booked a reservation at Stone for my husband's birthday dinner. We've celebrated many occasions here over more than a decade - Valentine's Day, our daughter's 3rd birthday, company events and "just because" gatherings, and more often than not we have a good experience.

Our most recent birthday dinner last week was unfortunately just so-so. Our party was to be seated outside and upon arrival to the table there was a blanket of fallen leaves on the surface of the table, but the hostess just dropped the menus down on top of them. My father in law pointed out the leaves, asking whether they could be swept off and the hostess just brushed off his comment saying that we were sitting under a tree and it was bound to happen, before walking off. We cleared the table's surface ourselves.

Our server Jesus was great. He greeted us promptly and was attentive for the duration of our dinner, checking on us frequently and making good recommendations. When my steak was horribly undercooked (I asked for medium, it was nearly blue rare), he apologized and took it straight back to the kitchen, bringing a replacement quickly and even took it a step further by removing it from the bill. He took excellent care of us and everyone else enjoyed their meal, no further issues.

We later took a stroll through the garden which is always a treat. While I wouldn't order the steak and frites again nor recommend it, I still think Stone is a pretty neat place to spend any occasion at.

Great food, beers, staff and ambiance. To be honesty there's nothing I can't write about that someone hasn't already!
My one recommendation is to get a table outside. They have heat lamps for those that get chilly!

      OH WHAT A NIGHT...

I took my husband for an early birthday to a Beer and Cigar paired dinner.
It had been a long time coming as a cigar event required us to be at an outdoor venue. Of course, this is not hard for SoCal.

When Stone first opened the World Bistro & Gardens, I attended the grand opening. I was working in the wine industry and we sold them our wine and we purchased their beer. Just two Esco businesses collaborating.

I was at their place of business a lot, but there was one thing that bothered me. I am NOT a big fan of IPA's. Almost everything on the menu back in the day was an IPA. I tend to go for a light blonde or a dark stout personally.

When I saw this event posted to celebrate Octoberfest, I was all in. A German style feast with 5 or 6 beers, many in limited quality and the best thing of all...just one IPA. We even received an event beer stein to take away.

The gardens were strung with twinkly lights, the fire pits were lit, and space heaters were on. A band played next to a water feature, a welcome beer and cigar station was set up and tables for 6 were beautifully decorated.

My favorite course included the Stone Pilsner Braised "Schweinshaxe". This was a slow braised and roasted pork hock with black pepper and brown butter served with Stone Goulish Delights, a dark lager with maple syrup and oak.

Oh, What a Night. We had such a wonderful time with two other couples. In fact, the 3 females at our table were the only in attendance of the approximate 100 guests. They both headed straight to our table.

Can you say man cave? No, there is not one in the garden, but essentially the garden was one. We had so many laughs with out table mates and we might have to find each other again.

This evening was called the, Stone Wagner's Wurst Beer & Cigar Dinner. This was named after co-founder Steve Wagner who had a table at the event where different stone staff spoke, many legends in the brewing industry.

The beers this evening were some of the best around. I praise them for keeping some traditions but moving with the times. We will be back for more event evening and weekend events in the future.

True Fact: I won a drinking contest with all of my co-workers at Stone when this site first opened. One, two, three, drink. I nurse by beer now which is perfect for a long, fun, night and no hangover. Ein Prosit!
