The tenth season of the Ohio Valley Summer Baseball League will not happen this year due to the coronavirus. League officials announced the cancellation of the 2020 summer season Saturday.
“Concerns for everyone’s safety, limitations placed on us by multiple agencies, and the unpredictability of changing conditions led us to ultimately forfeit the 2020 season,” OVL President John Bruce said. “We want to thank all our fans, sponsors, players, and staff for their past support. We look forward to roaring back for the 2021 season even stronger.”
Teams had already recruited its rosters for the 2020 season and with some states announcing travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the league felt the decision to cancel was the right one.
