from the 1993 album 944 Columbus, the final recording 

by Mario Bauza, one of the most influential figures in the

influence interpreted by the Afro-Cuban rhythm section.

influences, and the melody is masterfully passed from section to section. A 

single pentatonic scale works for the solo section making this a wonderful 

vehicle for involving many soloists.

The landmark album Birth of the Cool by Miles Davis brought us a unique
