듀랑고 F-85는 조지 E에 의해 1977년에 시작된 회사인 듀랑고 시스템사가 1978년 9월에 도입한 초기 개인용 컴퓨터였다.컴스톡, 존 M. 스스캔디오스, 찰스 L.Waggoner, 모두 예전에 디아블로 시스템즈였습니다.[1][2][3]F-85는 통합 ISAM(Indexed Sequential) 파일 시스템과 태스크당 파일 잠금 기능이 포함된 DX-85M이라는 자체 멀티태스킹 운영 체제를 실행하거나 CP/M-80을 사용할 수 있다.[1][4][5] DX-85M은 CONFIG라는 텍스트 구성 파일을 활용했다.이 파일 이름이 1983년 MS-DOS/PC DOS 2.0에 따라 유사한 목적으로 사용되기 5년 전 SYS[5].

F-85는 고밀도 4/5 그룹 코딩 인코딩을 활용한 480KB의 단면 5인치 100tpi 디스켓 드라이브를 사용했다.이 기계는 77 트랙의 미크로폴리스 드라이브가 장착된 Western Digital FD1781 플로피 디스크 컨트롤러를 사용하고 있었다.[6]이후 모델에서는 디스켓당 960KB(946/947KB 포맷[2][4][nb 1])에 대한 양면 옵션으로 확장되었다.[2][5][6][7]

듀랑고는 이후 'F-85' 모델명을 삭제하고 사용자 모델 시스템을 채택했는데, 700은 엔트리 모델, 950은 완전한 기능을 갖춘 모델이다.

이후에도 그들은 80186-/80286 기반의 16비트 시스템인 듀랑고 "포피"를 디자인했고 MS-DOS가 엔트리 운영체제로 선택되었다.
