교토상(京都商)은 일본의 예술·[2]과학 분야에서 평생 공적을 인정받아 수여하는 민간 상이다.그것은 각 분야의 최고 대표자들뿐만 아니라 [3]"인류의 과학, 문화, 정신적인 향상에 크게 기여한 사람들"에게 주어진다.교토상은 노벨 재단과[4] 공동으로 제정되어 전통적으로 [7]노벨상이 수여되지 않았던 분야에서 이용 가능한 가장 권위 있는 상 중 하나로 많은 사람들에게 일본판 [5][6]노벨상으로 여겨지고 있다.
상금은 부문별로 1억엔(약 80만달러)의 상금이 수여되며 1985년부터 이나모리 가즈오가 설립한 이나모리 재단이 매년 수여하고 있다.수상자는 매년 6월 발표되며 시상식과 관련 행사는 매년 11월 [8]일본 교토에서 열린다.

수상자
2015년 교토 수상자로는 99명의 개인과 1개의 재단(노벨 재단)을 기렸다.과학자, 기술자, 연구원부터 철학자, 화가, 건축가, 조각가, 음악가, 영화감독까지 개인 수상자가 다양합니다.미국이 가장 많은 수혜자를 배출했고, 일본(19), 영국(12), 프랑스(8)가 그 뒤를 이었다.

The Kyoto Prize was created in 1984, with the assistance of the Nobel Foundation, to create Kyoto awards which do not duplicate the Nobel categories established a Century ago. In fact, the very first Kyoto Prize was awarded to the Nobel Foundation as a group for its assistance in advising the Inamori Foundation in creating the Kyoto Prize.
