History
Mystic was first settled in 1654 by Thomas Minor and John Winthrop, Jr. The town was originally part of the Pequot Indian Reservation, and was known as Seaport. In 1665, the town was renamed Mystic after the Mystic River. The town was incorporated in 1784.
