Denison Summary
Denison, Kansas is a small town located in the northeastern corner of the state. It is situated in the Flint Hills region of Kansas, and is part of the larger Manhattan metropolitan area. The town has a population of just over 1,000 people, and is known for its rural charm and friendly atmosphere.
History
Denison was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Manhattan. The town was named after the Denison family, who were among the first settlers in the area. The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, corn, and hay. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow and develop, and by the 1920s it had become a thriving community.
In the 1950s, the town began to experience a decline in population as many of the younger residents moved away to larger cities. However, in the late 1970s, the town began to experience a resurgence in population as people began to move back to the area. Today, Denison is a small but vibrant community with a population of just over 1,000 people.
Geography
Denison is located in the northeastern corner of Kansas, in the Flint Hills region. The town is situated on the banks of the Big Blue River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and prairies.
