Amy Schumer recalls Bradley Cooper's brutal two-word comment that left her ego in tatters

Amy Schumer recalled a hilariously dispiriting conversation she had with Bradley Cooper on Tuesday night.

She recalled running into the 50-year-old actor and filmmaker when he casually asked a two-word question that gave her self-confidence quite the knock.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host begged her to tell the audience 'the Bradley Cooper story' that she had told him earlier, which comes years after she admitted to have another awkward encounter with the Hollywood heartthrob.

After mentioning that Bradley was a Philadelphia Eagles fan, she said she introduced herself with a standard 'How are you?'

'He said, "You know, I turned 50 this year,"' she recounted, before sharing his ego-destroying question.

'And he goes, "You 50?"' Amy recounted — before revealing that she's only 43.

Fallon hunched over his desk as he was overcome by a fit of laughter, before he winced on her behalf through his chuckles.

Amy said she tried to quickly 'recover' from the humiliating questions, considering she was still seven years away from 50.

'I mean, 'cause whatever, I'm 43, but you know, I'm like, "I will be 50,"'she said.

'But I'm not 50 yet,' she added, before repeating the shocking question from Bradley — who was named People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2011 — to let it sink in.

'"You 50?" Yeah, no, I'm not Bradley. You know, I'm not,' she mused aloud as Fallon continued to cackled from behind his desk. 'But thank you for thinking of me.'

Amy pivoted by declaring that everyone 'want[s] to be hot.'

'People go through a lot to be — this is how bad people want to be hot,' she said.

'People literally run...' she added before pausing to let it sink in for the giggling audience.

Then the Trainwreck star got up and mimed running in front of her chair while shouting in a dopey voice, 'Somebody have sex with me!'

She poked fun at people who exercise, saying, 'They're riding a bike to nowhere to the Wicked soundtrack. It's pathetic!'

Later, Amy brought up her husband, chef Chris Fischer.

She referred to him as her 'late husband,' and Fallon looked shocked, until she clarified that she just calls him that 'because he's never on time.'

The comedian also joked about how fans who recognize her on the street will mistake her for other actresses, such as Melissa McCarthy or Rebel Wilson.

'And I should be so lucky,' she continued. 'I don't correct them. I just go, "Yeah, Bridesmaids changed my life."'

Other times, they 'accidentally insult' her by saying things like, 'Sorry, I know you just worked out.'

'And I'm like, "No, I didn't,"' Amy continued, explaining, 'I had some ramen, and it had a kick, so I'm sweating.
