Owning Manhattan star Jonathan Nørmølle has officially quit the Netflix real estate show after one season, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The television personality and entrepreneur, 27, shared that he no longer needs the exposure from the series, which was renewed for a second chapter in August.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, he confirmed: 'I've said no to season two officially.'

Explaining why he decided to turn down appearing in more episodes, Jonathan said the editing posed a risk – and that he doesn't want to be known as a reality television star.

'The people I have now and I'm working with now, and the brands that I'm working with now, they're not going to sacrifice control for that, you know?' he said.

'They kept asking, and asking, and asking, and so I was just really transparent.'

Explaining why he decided to turn down appearing in more episodes, Jonathan said the editing posed a risk – and that he doesn't want to be known as a reality television star

Reading aloud a note to Netflix producers, he said: 'Unfortunately, due to caliber of people involved, unless we have full control over the edits, and due to the inherent risk and initial Selling the City show on Netflix, none of the partners nor me thought it would be beneficial.

'We'll be doing a documentary and shooting these projects and lifestyles in another way.

'If there's any way you guys could be involved, I will let you know.'

He continued: 'Again, I think I got what I needed from it, right? Like people from all over the sort of globe started calling me for all these different businesses.

'I got what I needed out of that [and] I don't want to be known as like a reality TV guy.'

Although Jonathan has said no to Owning Manhattan season two, he claims he is working on a documentary-type show, which is still in the early phases of pre-production.

'It's going to sh*t on all the other ones because we own 51 percent of the production, meaning we control what's being put out there,' he revealed.

'And one of the main rules are that there's no retakes, there's no reshoots.'

Now he's out of the show, Jonathan is focusing his attention on his business, Next Gen Ventures.

He has also recently partnered with property mogul Gary Keller, who is the founder and Executive Chairman of Keller Williams, which is the largest real estate company in the world by agent count.

Jonathan was fired by Ryan Serhant in the season one finale of Owning Manhattan after he was caught bad-mouthing a colleague on the company's podcast and tarnishing the reputation of the business at the showing of a $10 million property.

In the showdown, which took place on the roof deck of the Manhattan skyscraper The Edge at Hudson Yards, Ryan said: 'You made your mistake with Savannah and the stupid podcast and using company resources, you have ego issues and you rub some people the wrong way, but even through all of that, I still told everybody: "I still believe in Jonathan."

'I stuck through all this bulls**t with you, and I've been the one to say, "Jonathan will make everyone proud, just you wait."'

Jonathan attempted to defend himself during the head-to-head, but ultimately his efforts fell flat.

'I don't think I've been mean to other agents,' he said. 'I think I've been presenting myself really, really well.'

He continued: 'This is going to sound cocky, but I am the face of the next generation of this.

'I'm the hardest working agent you will ever meet, and I think I know more about the industry than most people. You'll see.

'Give me a year from now, I'll be number one at Serhant. You'll be surprised. You'll see.'

But Ryan's mind was already made up, and he cut the conversation short by terminating Jonathan's employment.

'Here's the deal,' he said. 'I think you're going to have a huge career, it's just not gonna be here.'

Following the dramatic exit, Jonathan claimed to DailyMail.com that he masterminded his brutal exit, claiming that had done so because he wanted to get out of Serhant to create his own business and no longer needed the brand.

'The only way I could get out of those contracts was if I got Ryan mad enough for him to fire me,' he said.

'And the only way I could do that is by saying all these things like; Ryan had done nothing when he was my age, whereas I have been on Forbes under 30.

'I made my first $100 million my first year in real estate. I was on the cover of Downtown Magazine, I was Rookie of the Year and I won most influential broker at Broker of the Year Awards.'

Jonathan alleged: 'I went in on Ryan with all these things and he got upset enough to fire me on TV - and instantly these contracts were completely void.'
