Hawk S & C Mission Statement:The purpose of the State University of New York at New Paltz strength & conditioning program is to establish, maintain and embrace the physical ability and athletic potential for our student athletes.

Our athletes will be built on a foundation of hard work, character, discipline, trust, and a view of the goal which is far bigger than each one as an individual.
The New Paltz strength & conditioning program provides a complete program, which covers all aspects of physical and athletic training, which includes strength training, power development, speed, quickness and agility training, flexibility training, and nutritional guidance for optimal performance. Through all our trials and tribulations we will remain committed to building quality athletes through the principles of ethical conduct, integrity, and excellence.

"The Kore" Strength and Conditioning Center Schedule
The strength and conditioning center schedule is subject to change based on the periods of the season for each athletic team. The schedule will be updated throughout the academic year. "The Kore" Strength and Conditioning Center Rules
The strength and conditioning center rules are provided for athletes to read and understand the proper procedures within a weight room setting. There is a zero tolerance policy if these rules are not understood and broken. The weight room is used for training and athletic enhancement, and it must be treated with respect. Hawk Motto: The motto of the New Paltz strength & conditioning program is "NOTHING LEFT." The athletes of New Paltz will learn to train, compete, and live life with this mentality.

Hawk Anatomy 101

The Skeletal Muscle System: This information provides student athletes and coaches with a basic idea for the skeletal muscle system. Learning the general area of each muscle or muscle group will provide for better knowledge during strength and conditioning sessions. Student athletes and coaches have the ability to learn which exercises are for upper and lower body muscle groups, or specific muscle groups.

General Strength & Conditioning Information

This information is provided for athletes to understand some of the urban legends and so called "myths" within the strength & conditioning world. The information could always be helpful to an athlete trying to understand their levels of physical fitness and how to develop an edge on the competition.

Stretching and Flexibility Information
This information on stretching and flexibility is provided for athletes to read and understand the importance of proper stretching techniques. There are specific times to use specific stretching techniques, like static and dynamic stretching. Stretching properly will help increase an athlete's range of motion, which could lead to increase athletic performance, strength gain, and injury prevention.
