We write a character out of the series, why would we need a plot?
This one-episode OVA is everything like the ode to the seiyuu and is dedicated to her character. In this anime, the character prepares to leave the Sakura Taisen and there really isn't anything else but that.
Animation[/u]: Good animation despite the lack of action.
Perhaps because of the farewell of the seiyuu, or perhaps it's because the lack of the action, but the animation looks good compared to the previous titles in the Sakura Taisen-series. The characters look good and the backgrounds sometimes look pretty good as well. Even the one time they used CG in it (the mecha got the honor of being done in CG) it looked quite nice.
Sound[/u]: Good … as long as you like the seiyuu.
Because of it being an OVA dedicated to that single character, she gets a lot of things to say and the scenes are pretty much always with her. She also gets the honor of singing a few songs (although it is still the same song) and although that song is not particularly bad, you do need to like the voice of her in order to really appreciate the song.
Story[/u]:We write a character out of the series, who cares about a plot?.
Above sentence says all. The only thing happening in this one-episode OVA is how the character wanders around and tags off all of the friends in the series, as to say farewell. Is this a spoiler? Perhaps. But truth is, this OVA has nothing to offer except for fans of the character or the seiyuu. There are no action scenes, just some memories en reminiscing and while that can be a good thing, this OVA isn't.
Conclusion[/u]
The OVA is nice for people who are fans of the character or the seiyuu. Everything else can safely skip this because it really has nothing to offer but being a keepsake for the fans.
Sorry for this review not sounding as smooth as it should be. The moment I finished this review, the PC crashed and took my review (including backups) with it. I had to rewrite it all from scratch and it didn't turn out as good as the one I had written before. I'm still pissed off because of it. My apologies, but you only write a perfect review once, not twice.
